I am not a football fan at all. I am a blonde when it comes to football matterssmile But from what i have been hearing people discuss, i have come to a conclusion that this dude, Fabregas, is very important in this Arsenal. So what if he leaves??? And what if he stays???

Can i single player cause a stir and make a team lose or win???

d'oh!

Though fabregas has been very instrumental in the arsenal squad in the recent past,i dont see his departure as a threat to Arsenal as a team as the cash that will be received from his sale to them(Barcelona) will/can be used to bring in a quality midfielder , a goal keeper and two central defenders.., from my perspective i think his departure will be a blessing in disguise for the Mighty Gunners.

Its amazing how arsenal has gone 5 years without a trophy yet its still the club (EPL) with the highest number of supporters in Africa.

Fabregas is under contract, if Barca want him then they have to meet Arsenal's asking price.

@mwenza...very good point! I may not be as GREEN in soccer but i am no expert either. But my observation is that Arsenal is a breeding ground. they don't like spending money. I think their train of thought revolves around not getting relegated , not winning and not spending - surviving!! Arsenal fans (most in Africa) are the most frustrated group of fans - they religiously follow a team that does not win anything substantial. every season they end-up wishing that MAN-U looses some trophy and celebrate it like they won it. akina Portsmouth have at least won something in the last 3 years hata Carling Cup?

If he watched Mourinho's lads play Barca in the CL...........He surely must now know that soccer is about results NOT merely passing the ball around.

When i was in form one, them days, i was taught something about the SI units of measurement. In soccer this SI units are simply how many times the ball crosses the goal-line of your opponents. Unfortunately there is no other yardstick.

Mr. Bean is going to play the same game SAF played with Real, only that SAF convinced Ronaldo to stay for one more season and ended up getting more money for him than any club has ever gotten for anyone else..

Arsene is asking for no less than 50M pounds for Cesc, Barca were willing to part with 30M pounds and Yaya Toure. Frankly I believe that Cesc is worth more than 30M pounds but Barca are looking at it from 2 points:

1. They bought Ibra for 40M pounds the previous season and are likely not to sell him this season, even with David Villa in the bag.
2. Cesc came from the youth ranks of Barca and even when (not if) he joins Barca (might be next season but 1), he is still not guaranteed starting line up with Xavi and Iniesta in the mix, same way he doesn't start for the Spain national team. Why would I pay 50M pounds to bench a player?

That said, it'll be interesting to see how the situation pans out because no one wants to keep a player who wants to leave but Arsene has no option but to make it painful for Barca to acquire Cesc! The jury is out on this one...

Mourinho's style of play cannot be applied in clubs such as Arsenal, Real madrid, Barca.....he only concetrates on cowardly defensive play. Look at the clubs he has been, he rarely spends any money on attacking players only defensive midfielders and full backs. Its a shame when you have a team with world-class players playing defensive football. If he goes to Real Madrid he will find it very hard to succeed unless he sells the likes of Kaka, Ronaldo, Higuain.

BTW...I think at the moment Man U fans are the most disgruntled lot. You lost the league, GET OVER IT ALREADY! By our standards (gunners)i feel we performed fairly well compared to previous seasons. Maybe things might have been different if we had all our players fit towards the end of the season. The only problem with Arsenal is that we lack strength in depth...i hope Wenger can solve this problem once and for all!

Smano....Mourinho is a very good manager but he is not the greatest, just alot of hype and attitude. Only last Season Pep Guardiola (in his first season)won all the trophies that were available and he did it playing good football.....Frank Rijkaard also won the double for Barca (CL & La Liga), right now he is in-charge of Galatasaray still winning trophies there.

He knows how to manipulate the media (Especially English). He has achieved success with clubs that expect and demand it...clubs that pay whatever it takes for them to achieve Short-term success. Last season he went on 100 million pound spending spree at inter....

Love him or hate him: Jose gets the results. The results bring in the glory and more importantly the money. Period.

His ego and hype are just part of his psychological game. I doubt that this is the side his wife and kids see at home.

Now what is his real motivation to go to real?
1) Ditching the italian game and press - 10%
2) Chance to win the CL with three different teams - 10%
3) Chance to win the championship in four different countries - 10%
4) Chance to silence barca for their 'translator' taunts - 70%

Just my thoughts!
