Down memory lane.....

The year is 1997. Politically-instigated ethnic clashes have hit Molo, Elburgon and other areas in the RV. Before long a comrade from Egerton university is killed while at home.

The comrades respond the way they know how. Through riots. During the confrontation with cops, a comrade is killed by a police bullet.

The following day, KU students riot in support of their Egerton comrades. Once again, cops are called in to quell the riots and two comrades are shot dead. It would have ended there were it not for one Prof. George Eshiwani, the then Vice Chancellor. He was a Moi sycophant but had a heart in his chest.

On being told that two of his students have been killed, the VC hit the roof. He summoned the Kasarani OCPD who was in-charge to his office and dialed state house. By the time he replaced the phone receiver, Kasarani police had a new OCPD, OCS, deputy OCPD and CID boss.

When the OCPD and his anti-riot brigade went back to the station, they were all arrested. 11 of them were charged with murder. The trial took years with the cops languishing in remand.

Why all this history ? Today in the morning, 11-year old Stephanie Moraa was playing at their balcony in Mathare. A bullet hit and killed her on the spot. The acting interior CS insists police are not using live bullets. Lets not even talk of the many guys being flushed out of their house and tortured badly by GSU. Their crime being living in the wrong places.

Just wish we had an Eshiwani inside Uhuru's government. Only one who has a heart inside their chest.

Boss, this was corrected, the man was not well briefed. The results Chebukati was reading for all the 47 counties did not include spoilt votes because they were not allocated to any candidate. Go to the portal if you want to see the number of spoilt votes.

Spoilt or rejected? Spoilt votes are replaced while rejected ones get to the ballot boxes but are invalid.

What are you saying?Or what am I missing?

Of what use is it to get to the ballot box and be declared invalid. Was anybody stopped from putting his ballot in the box for whatever reason?

presiding officer and ask to get a replacement! he/she will take the SPOILED BALLOT and put it in an envelope and issue you with a fresh one. it never makes it into the ballot box

any ballot paper that makes it's way into a ballot box and does not bear the security features determined by the IEBC or which votes are marked, or appears to be marked against more than one candidate or unmarked! or does not have a serial number that is not from that station. Even ballots that you write your name on or anything that can be used to identify the voter is REJECTED!! if this REJECTION is OBJECTED TO by some agents - it's still REJECTED but is marked as REJECTION OBJECTED TO!! the final determination is made by the returning officer.

If there is a ballot that has been DISPUTED by agents as being valid but the PO determines it to be valid - it will be counted but will be marked as DISPUTED the final determination is made by the returning officer.

in some countries you also have DISCARDED... these are ballots found just 'lying around'. so a guy was given a ballot but somehow never casted it... somehow!! Laughing out loudly ... when packing up... you find some random ballot kwa booth or something!

How do you classify a right ballot in wrong boxes? E.g good MCA ballot in presidential box?

Classified as stray ballot and not allocated to any candidate.

Simply because of the counting procedures... if you count presidential ballots first and complete the counting - seal everything... then later find some presidential ballots in the MCA ballot box - utafanya nini nazo? you cannot unseal the ballotbox, the tamper evident envelopes e.t.c.
I think they should be counted... they may be misplaced but they are a voice none the less... we just have to have procedures for that

In summary, part of the 400k rejected or spoilt votes came from county 001. Chebukati's reporting last night did not include any for any county. Period. If you are concerned about the rejected votes for county 001, check the IEBC portal (I hope it's still up).

BBI will solve it

Their Mpigs and Governors have already collected their certs. The Chief goon is yet to talk,Kamelon and Elastoplast have not been seen in public while my ex has been busy in Western. So loose mouth Orengo and Muthama are doing the talking.

Today they said 100+ have been killed. They are going to no court but the court of public opinion.Whatever that means.

Meanwhile Kamba elected leaders have said their community will not participate in any protests or acts of lawlessness.

The reason why the percentage score remained fairly constant is that the results were streaming from different stations around the country and in a fairly random arrival pattern. The time at which a particular polling centre files its vote count depends on what time it opened, how many voters turned up, how faster the clerks were counting, how many ballots were disputed and for how long… and so on and so forth.

All these factors were different for each polling station and so the time that each transmits its results is quite random. Thus, the early tally was fairly representative of the final outcome since it is naturally randomised in both space (i.e., location) and time.

The randomness of the location from where results originate ensured that each candidate’s strongholds got an equal chance of arriving at the tallying centre.

This phenomenon is similar to what happens when one is eating githeri. Suppose you scoop spoonfuls from different parts of the plate. Each spoon will have a different ratio of maize to beans. As you swallow the food, the ratio of maize to beans in your stomach initially varies widely but it quickly settles to a fairly constant value – well; only that now it is chewed! The constant value is approximately equal to that of the seeds in the plate.

Orengo was talking about riots in US after Trump won. Then went on to say "but because they (police in USA) are civilised, they don't use violence on people. I was thinking to myself, where does this geezer live, no police violence or violation of human rights in USA?

I think they will file a petition ,I don't see how else they will continue to hold pressers to tell us yadayada about publ'ic opinion. As it is Mr Elastoplast,Bigchicks ex and melon seem to have disappeared. Now it is Orengo left foaming in the mouth, talking nonsense.
How is it possible not to summon some grace and humility to just congratulate the winner of such an election? The young Turks had a magnificent dismantling of the geezers, move on!

Sounds like @Masukuma explaining.Gone to the very basic.Githeri, spoonfull and eventual mix in the stomach will bring some understanding.

This fools have not been to a statistics class so terms like random and fair representation will be hard to sink.
This will be the new 2M dead voters story till 2022.

My prayers are with Chebukati and Mr Thiree four bee. (I have been hoping they could progress to Form foree dee.I would feel represented)

Again considering a polling has no more than 700 voters, it means the percentages would vary in a very small way, point zero something

someone beat me to an article explaining WHY THE % DID NOT CHANGE!! As you remember, I asked guys to wait until a very CONSERVATIVE 30% came in - by that time we should have substantial results from everywhere in the country. let's face it
1) polling stations in the same center do don't vote very different from other polling stations in the same center
2) polling centers in the same area don't vote differently to each other.
so by picking randomly results from polling stations around the country - we will start seeing the picture paint.
Consider kenya as being one canvas - that has a picture hidden behind it a high resolution picture! and we start revealing it pixel after pixel... initially it's empty and se start seeing colors... really light but as time goes on and the pixels reveal themselves RANDOMLY ACROSS THE BOARD... we can start deducing what the image is

it would be really surprising that by the time you hit 30% of all pixels - you still cannot tell if it's a cow... a goat..(or at least an animal) human... a car... it would really be surprising if by 30% you saw a car and by 90% it turned into a tree!!

can you recognize these people?

The only election result that did not obey this was Kalembe Ndile and Partrick Musimba's - it wen't down to the last station and Kalembe was beaten by less then 200 votes.
