Juja residents have voted across ethnic divisions and elected a politician they fondly call ‘Muhindi wa Juja’ their ward representative.

Kalpesh Jayantilal of Jubilee beat nine rivals after getting 18,471 votes. He was followed by David Macharia with 2,349 and Jeremiah Kiama with 2,107.

Speaking to The Star after his triumph, Jayantilal said he gained support after helping the local community with basic commodities such as free water.

“I sat down with my people and we drafted our way forward. They listed what they wanted me to look into and I promised to deliver. They have expressed their confidence in me and I’m grateful,” he said.

Juja ward residents said they voted for Jayantilal because he can improve their area.

“Even before we elected him he constructed several kilometers of feeder roads in the ward. The clean tap water we use in our homes comes from his family’s go-downs and we access it for free,” said resident Lawrence Kiruthu.

Ohuru's home county Kiambu has elected a Luo MCA, Mr. Cyrus Omondi and also a Mhindi MCA Kalpesh Jayantilal. Meanwhile in baba's home county siaya all MCAs are from just one community.

Kenya's main domestic poll monitoring organisation, ELOG, said on Saturday it had found no evidence to suggest this week's election was manipulated or inaccurate, as the Opposition have attested.

ELOG's parallel vote tally projected a victory for President Uhuru Kenyatta with 54 percent of ballots cast, compared to an official count of 54.3 per cent.

This was well within ELOG's 1.9 per cent margin of error, the group said.

Of what use is it to get to the ballot box and be declared invalid.Was anybody stopped from putting his ballot in the box for whatever reason?

The Wiper party has suffered a blow in MachakosCounty after losing the governor's seat to Maendeleo Chap Chap Party of Governor Alfred Mutua. By yesterday evening, Mr Mutua was leading with 243,841 votes against Ms Ndeti’s 204,419. Ndeti says she will petition the results.

In Machakos Town constituency, Jubilee’s Victor Munyaka won with 43,970 votes against Wiper’s Ulbanus Mutisya, who garnered 22,235 votes.

The Muungano Party candidate for the Kangundo parliamentary seat, Fabian Muli, defeated the incumbent, Kyengo Maweu of Wiper, who came a distant third after Jubilee’s Rose Wambua who polled second. Muli managed 15,354 votes.

In Mwala Vincent Musyoka retained his seat on a Maendeleo Chap Chap party ticket to beat his strongest opponent, Wiper’s Daniel Muoki, who is a former area MP. Mr Musyoka garnered 35,724 votes while Mr Muoki got 14,575.

In Yatta, former MP Charles Kilonzo, who contested as an independent candidate, bounced back with 17,878 votes after beating his opponents, including the incumbent, Francis Mwangangi.

In the senatorial race, lawyer Boniface Kabaka of Chama Cha Uzalendo emerged victorious after garnering 158,777 votes.

However, Wiper secured seats in Matungulu (Stephen Mule), Kathiani (Robert Mbui), Masinga (Joshua Mwalyo) and Mavoko (Patrick Makau).

Joyce Kamene also secured the woman representative seat on a Wiper ticket.

How do you classify a right ballot in wrong boxes? E.g good MCA ballot in presidential box?
