There was no commitment from Uhuru about appearing. T he media advertised and sold a lie. However he should have sent out a statement saying he did not commit to a debate. Yeah,he should have. Murchr you are a political buff. You know the Jubilee strategy. They know they can't win with only central and north rift votes so they have camped in coast, western and kisii trying to get some meat off that bone. That is why they have spent months in the coast. Unfortunately, all that went to waste in 90 minutes. By not showing up, ohhh boy. If the Jubilee voters are moaning and crying in the blogs, what do you think the voter is thinking in Narok. Raila spent a whole 10 minutes talking to the Masai. Alone with no question or disagreement. I think you guys are joking. True votes in central may not change much. However, I know of 3 voters who won't show up on d-day already. Poor politics will send Uhuru home. If I were Nasa all I would say in rallies is. Uhuru ni muoga na ana dhania nyinyi ni wajinga. Then follow Uhuru every county he goes to. Sorry Murchr, even Trump screaming how the media is biased showed up when required. I highly doubt this would yield much,Kenyans are emotional. To be honest,2 days from today, this debate will not matter, people made noise about the VP debate, and we all forgot that Kalonzo didn't attend. Even those 3 votes, they will come back home thihihi!! In my view,I think Uhuru should have attended, largely symbolic Am glad I didn't have to answer alma. But trust me on 8/8 no one will remember that debate. Although even the questions asked did a disservice to Babu These debates are useless. Alma doesnt even believe what he is writing. I am 100% sure that @alma would never change his mind about Ohuru even if he appeared in a hundred debates.

In my own opinion, Uhuru will win this election but not showing up may either make some of his voters lazy hence affecting the turnout. You never know it may contribute to a rerun. That means Uhuru will have to work extra hard because of taking such an opportunity for granted!! I was dissapointed he didnt show up Either way, he had his reasons, I hear Joe coached vitendawili, on Sunday night, and that's why he was obsessed with the name jo Nevertheless, Uhuru will win by a large margin, Kikuyu's in this country and many, more than the goverment would let you know.

UK snubbed, Joshua appeared. UK said he'd do a town hall kind of thing. Question is: Will media houses agree to air it,seeing how UK snubbed their arranged debate?

Why are guys obsessed by no show by UK, he had indicated since long time that he will not be attending. He just kept his word. Do you change your mind just because people are talking. Jack Ma the other day said he called 20 people to his house to discuss what he is today and 19 of them told him to drop the idea. In fact if UK attended i would brand him kigeugeu Life is an endless adventure

I might have called him names before, but RAO yesterday evening convinced me that he is of good intentions. Particularly how he will deal with the issue of corruption and how he intends to lift the dignity of Kenyans by construction of decent low cost housing etc....Raila did very well in that debate and came out as a very intelligent man despite my past perception of him Dumb money becomes dumb only when it listens to smart money

In the debate, when asked about his housing policy, baba attacked "greedy" landlords and said he will bring down rents. Rents will be strictly controlled by government.

He even said unga is currently 150 bob when 90 bob unga is all over. He couldn't defend himself against corruption in the maize scandal during his tenure as PM. Regarding housing he had no plan but rather shifted the blame to land lords where he said rent will be controlled via the Rent restrictions act. How will landlord invest when they cant raise rent above 2500 as per the act? On alshabbad he said it is is him and kibaki who sent troops to somalia and now wants them to be withdrawn and stationed at the kenyan border. Wont all the liberated territories fall back to alshabab. Will Kenya be safer with the terrorists occupying territory upto the kenyan border?

He said he would apply the relevant legislation. He actually dealt more on the 'Slum lords' I thought he would show how he would solve the housing problem eg by more funding to National housing corporation to build more affordable houses (like the nyayo embakasi estate), reduced VAT on building materials, reduced stamp duty, encouraging pension schemes to invest in housing, slum upgrading etc etc. But his response was petty and pathetic, only saying that he will enforce rent restrictions act to deal with landlords/slumlords.

The debate was hollow and lacking in substance. He talked too much but said nothing. There was nothing on education, health, security, agriculture, foreign policy, land, economy, industrialization, etc etc. Shida ya baba is when you ask him a question he starts giving you stories and narrating events and ends up saying nothing. You ask him about food and agriculture, he starts a long story on how when he was PM they were importing maize from tanzania and south africa, and talked to kikwete bla bla bla mpaka the interviewer moves to the next question. You'd think he would address ways to ensure food security like availing timely imputs, irrigation, storage, post harvest processing, credit to farmers etc etc. Baba is bure kabisa.

I wonder if he understands how the economy works.
