Democracy in our African setup has become a thing for the rulers who are tyrannical and despotic. They target the "poor" masses and win by numbers.

As @tokyo and @hardwood highlighted, the most important strength should be the voice of the wise and economy movers and experienced. They should be the ones to be listened to because they have solid ground to discuss society welfare...

It's unfortunate to give country destiny to a guy who just received a drum of water because of the failure of the same rulers to supply water...

Contrary to what we see now, respect for the wise and economy contributors has gone to the dogs. The democracy we see now is such that the opinion of 18 yr old who just got his ID last week is put on same scale with an old, wise, experienced person of 50 yrs old...

Thanks to the one man one vote system...

The taxpayer (wo)man no longer has more weight to his opinion than the little boy who still resides in his father's house!

Democracy has become money... and money talks very loudly... so politicians use this loophole open during election time by sending in donkeys, human donkeys with suitcases... briefcases filled with money to "buy" the "poor" electorate...
