Can someone explain the legal ramifications of a press conference by SRC? Will this declaration be nullified tomorrow after an emergency meeting by Parliament?

Some of us are very wary of political gimmicks just before election time.

When is it effective? Who can veto it? What if Raira wins?

Don't celebrate yet because parliament collectively has powers over SRC. They will easily vote down these amendments.

BBI will solve it

I once worked with MCAs and was privy to their payslips. The guys were raking almost 500,000 a month.

The trips to Mombasa would be budgeted for using air fare(KQ rates) but they would get the same and take a Coast Bus in the evenning.

The money chewed by our leaders is so much it hurts to think about it.

@2012 - Parliament has no such powers. Look at what happened last time

Sorry to ask but will the current parliament sit again before the elections? If not this is very good timing by SRC, those at the top have been eating butter alone now the milk has been harmogenized, if the MPs change it Okia will go to court and get a stay order, the vying candidates might be feeling potatoes because of this.

.... and therein lies the second agenda, after erecting The Speaker, for the forty-nine (49) Assemblies after the erections.

There had better be no loophole because trust you me, not only will they find a way around this "Constitution" but total take home pay will be no less than 25 percent higher than that of the current Assemblies.

Trust me. You can take that to Member.

Those that were nominated by major parties are already plotting how to bypass this coz they know their chances of winning are over 80%.
