Baba is behaving like a boy who is afraid to face the circumciser's knife and therefore comes up with all manner of excuses to delay the D-Day. If baba is fearing going to the elections let him say so. I am sure he would still complain if the ballot tender is given to his own Kisumu Mollases coz his is a fear of elections and the guaranteed defeat.

Let it be borne in mind that all the other grounds cited by the plaintiff/applicant were found to lack merit and thrown out save for lack of public participation.

In other words, by Al Ghurair printing the ballot papers, does not give any political wing any advantage over any other.

Which begs the question;

Is what we are getting into in the wake of this judgement worth the trouble under the circumstances

Was public participation lacking only in the case of presidential ballot tendering? What was the gist of the case? Wasn't it the suspicion that one party was unduly advantaged by the printing if done by Al Gurer?

The Judges specifically dealt with this allegation and found it to be baseless.

It was also observed right there in court after the judgement that; with this judgement other persons are now likely to go to court to have all the other ballots be subjected to similar fate since no public participation was carried out on their part either.
The judges just shrugged their shoulders like - Shhh - don't give the litigants that idea! adding that they ruled strictly on the matter before them - the presidential ballot!!!

In light of this, can we now conclude that that was a very stupid ruling?

Somebody with deep pockets but who hasn't yet won voters' hearts will do so. More time might mean turning tables on your opponents

I have in mind Kabogo. More time could give him a new lease of political life

What would stop some little known MCA aspirant from some backwater ward in Kacheliba (or elsewhere) going to court to stop printing of ballots now that the unlearned judges have made a ruling that the process is flawed? The earliest we can have this election is in the year 2050 after all petitions by thousands of aspirants have been heard and determined.

It will end well.I trust there is a way out.

Things are thick for Jubilee. The pummeling they are receiving in the court rooms is just too much. Baba is running rings around them. I can imagine the party that will go down today with a hearty laughter from baba as he sips his favourite drink.

If the election results end up in court like last time, then jubilee will be toastsmile

i think the ruling isn't as bad as people think, at least the sky won't fall. I blame jubilee for their loss in court...why they and govt put in such a spirited attempt to defend alghurair i will never understand...shows lack of strategy, tact. In fact, had the judges ruled in IEBC favor, this would have given aliar the much needed ammunition to claim conspiracy by judicary, executive and iebc against him..as of now he's at a total loss what to do next...

Really, these presidential ballots can be printed on the eve of the election locally. Why in this time and age, mere printing has to be done abroad? Given time I could print all these ballots from my bedroom for all i care.
