Wow this is a marvellous job by Ohuru in ukambani. All mkambas should elect him. Ohuru has transformed ukambani from some arid and poor hunger-stricken region into the new "Israel" that will be feeding kenya. #TanoTena http://www.the-star.co.k...to-reelect-him_c1589895
Quote: Although water is largely a devolved function, Uhuru, in 2015, supplemented the county water budget with Sh1.5 billion to go towards the distribution of water. The national government has also financed the rehabilitation of the 58km Yatta Canal at a cost of Sh2.5 billion. It is complete and stretches from the Thika River across the Yatta plateau to the River Mwita-Syano, which flows into Kitui county. It is expected to serve more than 500,000 people, mostly farmers who will use it for irrigation. Last year, a local farmer established a flower farm worth Sh2 billion near the canal. The farmer has already hired 400 workers, thus creating employment for residents.
Some residents told the Star yesterday that the implementation of key projects such as the Yatta Canal and the Ng’alalya water project in Matungulu by the national government improved their lives. The Ng’alalya project is expected to serve 28,000 residents across Matungulu and Kangundo constituencies once the piping is done, project coordinator Faith Muindi said. Residents used to walk more than 5km to fetch water before the project was initiated, she added. Muindi urged the government to give more water pipes for the distribution of the commodity. “We need more pipes, about 25,000 pipes, to connect the water to the homesteads because we now have the main line,” she said.

As Predicated, the usual 'my life is in danger' card has been unleashed. BBI will solve it :)

on the Yatta Canal good job .just piping to nearby market centres like Kithimani would add further value.water still a big issue in these centres despite the canal passing nearby.wish this ruto wasn't in the mix.Uhuru would have won saa mbili.jubilee is still a hard sell in ukambani courtesy of no 2 punda amecheka

Itinerary as follows; Limuru, Gitaru, Wangige, Ruaka, Northern By-pass,Kiambu Town, Old Kiambu/ Ruiru Road, Thika town, Juja (bridge), Thika Highway -Githurai roundabout.
Lots of love and political maturity from Kiambu residents who are 90% Jubilee damu.
For those who would want to ask why Kiambu ? This is Baba's most critical vote bloc in the entire Mt.Kenya. 80K in 2013. Looking at >100K this time.
Finally baba in jubilee strongholds, I will vote uhuru but I would love if Raila went to people of house and deny the allegation by every tom dick and harry campaigning here that hiki kimtu, oh raila even MCAs are singing raila, but also he should explain why NASA has sidelined the Kikuyu and kelenjin, the Land issues and just assure them that NASA won't witch hunt the community INCASE (because they won't) win I wish baba had made this(visiting people of house) move earlier. Dumb money becomes dumb only when it listens to smart money

I understand that they turned up just to see the legendary "kimundu" with their own eyes. Don't know if that will translate into votes.
