Furthermore, the dividend yield is a function of price so either it is over-priced OR folks like its prospects hence the high price. Some firms e.g. Berkshire Hathaway don't pay dividends. Apple started paying dividends recently. Even Microsoft didn't pay dividends for years. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - *to paraphrase Warren Buffett*
