Will this Train havepolicemen in all the coaches? I am scared that Terrotists ccould take advantage of the usual slow response of the kenyan police, to slaughter passengers, once the train leaves either Nrb or Mombasa

@Fullykenyan, Wacha uoga. I great idea like this one , even the alshetanis will enjoy the ride rather than disrupt it.

Good concern though

Boss, i hope mashetani will rather enjoy the ride and not think of evil stuff. In my bag, i always have a big screw driver, whenever i ride a train, just incase madimoni appear. A screw driver is a concealed weapon, that is not outlawed

Has anyone ever set up a business and not made a provision for recurrent expenditure till the business breaks even? Why do you want the GOK to be any different?

The ripple effect on the economy is what matters. Even the toll roads in developed economies have some investment from the exchequer to be sustainable. The toll fee only maintains the roads but are not geared towards profit making.

Ati atia ? Have you looked at the feasibility study ? Done by the same contractor ? The president has been telling us its a game changer. That it will reduce transport costs by 60%. Now I have just seen the "discounted" prices for the cargo. 50K for a 20ft container.

We have a gentleman called @Mkimwa on this forum. He is a veteran trucker. He can do a 20 ft container @50K to your doorstep upto Thika. For SGR, please add another 30K for the last mile trip to your doorstep.

Again I ask, is the game-changing aspect of the SGR in addressing capacity challenges or in competitive pricing ? On these two it falls short.

it costs around 100k to transport a container from Mbsa to Nairobi. Dont be ignorant. I have done it several times. Now it's going to be half price, roads spared, congestion eliminated, guys can do more business...Joho of all people will receive more tourists...I could go on forever.

Correct that and say "passenger rail service"...the freight is very profitable worldwide...however a few passenger lines are profitable like the the ones in Holland,Scandinavia and Swiss...

The President acknowledged to have watched Carols video and said he would do something about it. Wewe a nobody seem to know that there were "plans" (that did not exist - the programs and fliers were out faded and poorly done as the usual stuff that comes from Govt press ) of calling it Madaraka express...sasa kimbelembele ni nani?
