khamwana's goose is cooked. If in doubt uliza Kibaki. The goose was actually served on the altar of the recent hike in Unga prices.
Btw in five year with the looting ongoing at Jubilee, hata SGR itakuwa imeuziwa EthiopiaLaughing out loudly . The economy will be akin that of Zimbabwe. Btw on the G7 meeting you should ask Kamwana how much he paid Cambridge Analytica to get there.

I love this SGR thing. I hate the corruption but the idea was brilliant especially for the Coast region. I can leave Nai with my family on Friday Sato morning for a weekend holiday at the beach and back on Sunday.
That is such a big boost for our hotel industry.

There are many people who could not go for holiday to Mombasa for fear of the horrible road. The expensive air fare especially during the holidays didn't help. The hotel industry at the Coast can only smile.

The hotel industry should also take advantage and lower its rates kidogo. I never understand why a room that goes for 5k ordinarily should shoot to 15k or 20k during holiday season.Investors should also look to de budget accommodation. Those swahili rooms at 1k per day would attract many.It would be a win win for all.

Hope to book one of these sleeper coaches in the future so that I can land on my mpango for the 4hrs from nrb to mbs. By the time we alight mambasani, we just check into our hotel and doze off. That is what is called travelling in style...or is it landing in style?

Landing in the old train wa's much more memorable, beds were yuge, softer and the train gave you minimum 12 hours of landing...that click clack of wheels on rails made it even sweeter.

Now PORK and his abled DP ill board this inaugural (spl) ride from Coast to Nairobi tomorrow, I wonder what will be in their mind!

By the way have you seen some of those major stations? They are YUGE and beautiful but I am surprise the CS Transie said we will only have one train per day one way each...
Who will use all those magnificie facilities? The night lights, the air-coned waiting lounges, the YUGE platforms etal?

This means the lounges will be used only for a maximum of say 1 hour and remain deserted for the next 23 hours.

Anyone of you ever visited the Syokimau commuter train station? Its in a state of disrepair due to underutilization plus utter NEGLET! Yet it get occupied at least 3 hours a day!

The type of the train stations built by these Chinese were fully based on the China model of mass transport...those stations require several trains per day, operation every 30 mins on the minimum.

Otherwise we will see some of the rare white elephants that we thought had become extinct!

good observation there, on the passenger side of things one can easily speculate with some measure of certainty that when the novelty of the SGR quiets down we shall begin to see those white elephants roaming around and this speculation is given more credence by the fact that govt has subsidized the commercial operations of the rail to the tune of 15b all this being to the detriment of the taxpayer, if we had a double track then one would reasonably speculate that those white elephants would be kept at bay.

Railroad has never been a profitable business worldwide. India, with the largest and most complex railway network is a purely state affair.

KR is saying there will be 2 trains: Inter City(Express) and Inter County. The latter will be serving all those stations on the way to MSa
