Wow. Anyone watching Centum? Huge demand of late. Currently trading at 39.50.

If it's foreign demand, it may be because of a plug in Value Investor Insight. It's an influential newsletter.

Larry Speidell, who manages a big US-based frontier hedge fund, talked about how Centum is one of his favorite stocks in an interview there last week.

Disclosure: I've got a beneficial interest in Centum shares.

centum have been experiencing net foreign buys especially from may.

Thanks, LittleDove. Helpful info.

Hey Horton, good to know that there are some other Centum believers.smile I'm not a fan of all of its ventures (esp Lamu), but they've got some interesting irons in the fire. And it's tough to ignore the big discount to NAV.

Hi Sparkly. Our biggest bets are on KCB, Safaricom, and Centum. Also have exposure to Jubilee, Kenya Re, KenolKobil, and I&M.

Generally, I think the big banks will do well over the next five years. I wish we had jumped in with both feet a few months ago, but I was still a bit skittish about impact of interest caps and South Sudan. Election might provide another nice buying opportunity.

As appetite for risk grows, I expect insurance companies to do well, too.

How about you? Where are you seeing opportunity?

Wow, well-played on KCB. You got the Shs3.00 div plus the capital gain. +37.0% total return over the past few months. Nice.

Would be interested in your Kenya Re thoughts. But maybe we should move that to another thread. smile

Anxious

Sorry, Ebenyo! It's nothing personal, I assure you. I often run behind in responding to comments and then they eventually fall off my radar. Feel free to send me a reminder at ryan(at)investinginafrica.net if you haven't gotten a response in a reasonable amount of time.

BTW, I don't understand technical analysis graphs either.

@Ryan. Thanks.

Sure thing on KNRE added u on facebook. Would love to hear ur perspective here.

@Ebenyo. Im a Value investor (or I would like to think so) I struggle with all that TA stuff and havent really paid much attention to it. Historically, value investing has better returns over the long term.
