What if M7 decides to connect Uganda's SGR to Tanzania's instead of Kenya's?

Actually this would be a good idea, although more costly for Uganda.

Rather than this petty one-up-manship we are engaged in, we should be racing to connect high grade rail networks to each of the East African countries and then to Central and West Africa. Imagine the boost to trade and other benefits such connectivity would create?

Boosting what trade, Wakanyugi, to central and west Africa?

Even the Kenyan engines can hit 200kmh if you have seen the speedometer pictures, although from 160 to 200 the speedometer is red.

Kuingiza baridi nayo?

Reality checking in now.
Wasn't it obvious that the SGR was going to disrupt the cargo and human transport industry especially in the coast?

Transport firm asks State not to subsidise new railway

RIP Modern Coast, Mash Poa… This is the Amount You’ll Pay for SGR Train To Mombasa

BBI will solve it

At such rates, will it make economic sense? If the Chinese company was recommending fares of about 4k, how then would an eighth (1/8) of that break-even, leave alone making some profit?

After those six members, 'tutajua imetagia wapi'.

It makes perfect marketing sense in marketing a new product or service.
What they need if for customers using other modes to try it out and opt for it over what they are currently using. They therefore have to market it below the price of the other available alternatives, later they can increase the fares once they have people hooked in.

It's so sad the enemy of Kenya, our motherland has decided to terminate the luxurious Nairobi-Mombasa Lunatic passenger train...but they will not win this.

Guys who want to travel to Mombasa in 4.5 hrs, what do u plan to do there with the 4hrs saved?

While going for a vacation, the journey itself ought to be an experience, not only the destination should concern us.
And that's why I will cherish the memory of the Lunatic Express, sleeping on those deep bunker-beds is not comparable to anything in this SGR.

This SGR will sit you on some hard seats for a 6 hour ride, by the way the seats are three-times harder than those found on Chania Bus express plying the NBO-MBA route.

The old leather seats in the Lunatic economy class were really made for a class, in fact those economy seats had lounge-standard cushioning...very deep and satisfying.

We will bring back the Lunatic Express pax train even if it will e a weekly thing...We the Lunats will do!!!
