That's a good idea so long it's a well organized drop-zone not a terminus, that park is under-utilized. He should also refurbish that restaurant that used to be there into a nice modern coffee house.

Uhuru park to become matatu terminus, i dont support that. All the noise, fumes and confusion that would come with matatu terminus will defeat the very purpose the park was meant for. Please tell him to be more creative...and to consult more..time for such unilateral directives without any basis are long gone

A park can be a bus-stop/terminus, all that is needed is planning. On your point about noise and fumes does the bus-stop being at Kencom reduce the noise?

A park, by definition, is an area of natural, semi-natural or planted space set aside for human enjoyment and recreation. Matatu termini will invalidate all this. But has Sonko even checked the basics. Uhuru Park is public land whose use is regulated by an act of parliament. We knew why this man should not be governor..

hahahaa...but when you want to hold rallies at uhuru park you pay the city? The city council decides on what to do with parks and amenities not the national govt. Go back and read that constitution

There are many parks like City park, karura forest, arboretum which serve really as parks. Uhuru park is a 20th century relic which serves very limited functional purpose. If you look at the upcoming Transbay terminal in San Fransisco you will see that a bus terminus can be nicely done to support a park. Instead of wasting cash on something like JKIA greenfield project that cash can be used to convert Uhuru park and that area around Grogan-Globe roundabout, Muthurwa into functional public spaces.

Any efforts to maintain clean European style towns and cities will be met by red cards on the ballot. Ask Kinuthia Mbugua

I hear Nakuru town voted overwhelmingly against him. Why? In an effort to clean up the town he relocated matatu termini and hawkers were given a market-no hawking in town

All those affected turned up big time on nominations day to kick him out

Is this the only and best way to manage traffic in the city..if so what other alternatives did he consider? I thought we had seen the worst with kidero drums

I just remembered back in the days of Fred Gumo's City commission there was a brilliant suggestion to convert jevanjee gardens into a bus dropping zone then build storied park on top. That would have been one heck of a good public space well utilized like the sunken park at Agaa khan walk.

The city traffic mess require multi-thronged approach to solve the multiple problems that exist. It's not an easy game. Public particpipation also has to be part of the game..think about the fate of all those muilti million businesses along Tom-Mboya street courtesy of matatu/bus stops and realize it's not easy as 1,2,3 to just wake up one day and empty the city of matatus and sit pretty. Welcome to the world, sonko

Delicate balancing act

In Naks, shop owners are happy with the order Kinuthia introduced; hawkers, ma3 operators, boda guys can't wait to see him out
