For Blue label products does Nakumatt buy cash? I have observed their blue label coffee is packaged in Poland....

The suppliers have found better paying customers i.e who will pay earlier than 90 days.
The next demise to Nakumatt will be when shoppers start shunning its branches and go to alternatives

Happening.

Very true. They even lack basic necessities like milk. The in-house bakers have closed shop in some branches.

I stopped shopping there when they stopped stocking my favourite brands of milk, majani chai, sugar etc. They no longer have variety.

Sad. It made me proud as a Kenyan when I found it's presence in far flung places like Kigali, Kampala and Arusha.

Uchumi relatively better. At least you will get basic items like New KCC milk; which is my favorite. The same has been missing in many Nakumatt shelves.

Imperial & Chase bank debacle could have locked up their working capital...Nakumatts irrational exuberance expansion could have been funded by Imperial Bank and when the centre couldn't hold things fell apart

Maybe not amazing sales, but that sure is some amazing confidence from suppliers. Seems like Uchumi is finally paying bills.

Really? Many suppliers wrote off receivables from Uchumi as a loss in December last year. You really think they would go back and supply after that?

Fiction.

The suppliers are being paid their debt . That's why like someone mentioned new kcc is back supplying milk, coca cola etc.
Uchumi was also given sh.500mn loan by GoK to start clearing arrears owed to suppliers
