(I believe the word refers to those born M or F but while growing up they tend to change to the oppossite sex.. It's even in todays Sunday Nation)

These things are happening because we do not understand the consequences of our action. Environment, GMOs, medicine etc.. These actions are new to human race and were not there when bible and quran were written.

@Fundahh,i beg to differ. The Bible is not silent on such issues. The Bible has plenty to say about human sexuality. Transsexualism, also known as transgenderism,is a desire to change one’s sex or to fulfill the role of the opposite gender. Transsexuals / transgenders usually describe themselves as “trapped” in a body that does not match their gender. They will probably practice transvestism / transvestitism and may also seek hormone therapy and/or surgery to bring their bodies into conformity with their perceived gender.

Most basic to our understanding of sex is that God created two (and only two) genders: “male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27). All the modern-day speculation about numerous genders—or even a gender “continuum” with unlimited genders—is unbiblical.

In Psalm 139, we learn that God fashions each one of us. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. . . . My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. . . . your eyes saw my unformed body” (verses 13-16). God’s creation of each individual must surely include His designation of gender/sex. His wonderful work leaves no room for mistakes; no one is born with the “wrong body.”

After the fall of man, it did not take long for gender issues to become confused. In Abraham’s day, homosexuality was widespread in some cities (Genesis 19:1-7; Jude 7). The Bible is unmistakably clear that homosexuality is a sinful perversion of God’s gift of sexuality (Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

In the Law, transvestism / transvestitism was specifically forbidden: “A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this” (Deuteronomy 22:5).

Another possible reference to transsexualism is 1 Corinthians 6:9, where “male prostitutes” is listed as a separate category from “homosexual offenders.” The King James Version uses the word “effeminate” here; that is to say, the “male prostitutes” might be transsexual men who act as women.

The Bible calls all such gender distortion sin. Transgenderism is not genetically based, and it is not simply a psychological disorder; it is rebellion against God’s plan. But following this realization is good news: sin can be forgiven and lives can be changed through faith in Christ. The Corinthian believers are an example of such a change: “And [homosexuals] is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” (1 Corinthians 6:11).But as alwez… There is hope for any sinner available in Jesus Christ.
For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. Romans 5:19

This is about an abnormal change of hormonal balances. Scientist are baffled because effeminisation is now affecting even other species. Imagine having more oestrogen than normal without being injected with it. How do you deal with that? Transgender is not about sex orientation but about gender identity. The victim in yesterdays paper experienced the changes late in his life.

Guka should tell us about the old fables of going round the Mugumo tree seven times to change your gender

I watched this transgender thing a while back on the Oprah show and to be honest i didnt know what to make of it.I'm still baffled to this day. Its common place in the US and im surprised it's taking root here in kenya.I tried to rationalise it in my mind but couldnt. Some people argue that the victims inject themselves with hormones..but i disagree. From the show, some people innocently ,find themselves in such scenarios, at some stage in their lives, while growing up and it has nothing to do with willful desire to change sex.

This whole thing has nothing to do with Homosexuality, neither with God creation of 2 genders nor being rebeliouse to God's plan..NO... THis is something beyond the victim's control.. they don't know what to do...u always knew u were a man and all of a sudden u started developing women's feeling...d'oh! u can not stop itSad it's just happening beyond ur wish..what do u thing u can do??? The victim is not a Homo neither is he doing anything againsg God's plan.
This is not the 1st time it has come up in the papers. I rememember once a woman appeared in the daily nation with her son complaining of her "son" who has been a "son" since birth but now developing abnormal changes...she was asking for helpPray There is more to it that we don't know ....

Ja-Kom this has nothing to do with being "fearfully and wonderfully made". Genetics. Therein lies the answer. Please let us not turn to religion for everything, for it doesn't have all the answers.

"Muguruki" If you were to try to untangle the kinds of people encompassed in this Kikuyu word you would come up with thousands of categories. This is exactly what Western civilizations have done. I like simplicity in my life so the fewer categories I have to deal with the better and this word helps make my life really easy.

One thing we all can't deny is there is an outright, open rejection of God's law in US and it's funny how their lifestyles have dramatically changed ever since and it's a lifestyle that's slowly catching on here too.

I know for a fact, man is a progressive being in whatever aspect of life you choose to look at. Particularly in circumstances where he is looking for a "high" or a good time. Be it drugs, it will start from the "harmless and acceptable" to the illegal and down right lethal.

There was a time women in this country Kenya who walked in the streets of Nairobi during the day were decently dressed, nowadays, you will be hard-pressed to see any of them at all. We are living in a time where you can wake up one day and find that nude dressing is the new fashion in town. Some churches in the US are already practicing it as we thread about here in Wazua.

This progressive pattern of increasing in intensity is repeated across the board in all aspects of life and in this thread particularly addressing intimate relations.

There's what God has deemed acceptable (sex between male and female after marital union). When it happens outside these boundaries, it always leaves the participants hungry for more exactly like drugs continually pushing the boundaries on the next attempt in search of the so desired "high".

What then happens, experimentation begins! Other unknown & unethical practices begin progressing into more destructive phases hence what we have today in our current society.

It is so sooo serious it has taken root into families and is getting advanced progressing down generations as it manifests itself in more complex ugly and heinous forms (generational curse). The progression will not stop it will only get worse as the lines between acceptable and unacceptable become completely blurred.

@Drobos

And now that you have eloquently summarized the problem's causal factors, what do you suppose or suggest the solution is?

The problem is that it just happens that majority of the human population is either male or female and when we see it on TV we think it's white people. The US and Europe are a much recent addition to this. The concept of 5 genders is very old it has been there for a while Asia and the pacific have recognized gender as being non-binary! Heck even Pakistan has recognized them. They are actually very poor and don't have the amenities (TVs and video players) needed to get brainwashed by 'Americans'. I must admit we don't have very many of them here - not sure why... but you step into Thailand or Phillipines and utajua dunia sio simple vile unafikiria.

Secondly on dressing, really? for how long were people dressing 'decently'? let's put the clock on when humans have been on the planet (i say 200k years), I know you will say 6k but even with 6k - out of that slot, how many years have african women been dressing 'decently'?

The issue on drugs... well.. we are always looking for highs! from dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine e.t.c. and we love them. we do get some cortisol in our system as well. it's human nature!

Students of sacred geometry will understand.

The pattern for the gay or transgender is the other way around.

That was the point I was making in man being a progressive being in all aspects of life. He will not stay long doing one thing looking for a high/good time even in dress-code.

I don't see where I said that the 5 gender concept started just the other day with the western whites, as far as I was concerned I was picking a random example, nothing more. My point was the patterns repeated over history from even the time of Sodom & Gomorrah. It was painfully there. Actually it doesn't even matter what race or what time in history it is, the patterns are all identical.

Returning to the ancient paths as defined in Jeremiah 6:16, others will argue this is entirely debatable as they would also argue about having a god(s) or none at all instead of one Supreme Being in a way to justify their line of thought. At the end of the day the choice is yours.

Off course. Appease God in other words. The one who gets angry and declares war on his people when they defy him! Anyway, why do we always have to revert to ancient Jewish beliefs when seeking answers to phenomenon we can't fully explain yet? Should we exorcise demons when we get sick or go to the doctor's? Do we still think the earth is flat or that the the earth is the center of the universe? Religion was our first attempt at philosophy, medicine and astrology but a lot of its early claims have been debunked. We ought to continue seeking knowledge to gain deeper understanding of complex issues, rather than always defaulting to mystery and delusion; which by the way, we have no proof they actually solve problems. If we only put the same effort in research, whether philosophical or scientific, we'd have better outcomes.
