ODM has given out direct certificates to loyal party members.

But the real drama will be in Jubilee.

1. Wairia vs Jamleck
2. Sabina vs waithera
3. Nyokabi vs Gathoni
4. Ndathi vs waiguru

Kiambu and Nairobi Jubilee governor primaries will be walkovers.

Hapo hakuna drama, walkover for Wamuchomba

Who is winning Kiambu governor? Unga or stone thrower?

Kiambu Kabogo is coming back.
Sad but thats the situation on the ground.

Very sad

1 dead and scores injured as ODM supporters of Busia governor, Sospeter Ojaamong and those of ODM aspirant , Dr. Paul Otuoma clash at Matayos shopping centre.

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Was in Nyeri and here is what I have gathered.

1. Governor - mutahi kagwe is the guy to beat.

2. Senator - wamahiu is ahead but you can hear loud murmurs because he is a D-maina guy.

3. Women rep - nyokabi Tena

4. Kieni - kanini kega coming back

5. Othaya - Gichuki kangara with a landslide

6. Mathira - It's Rigathi's to loose

7. Mukurweini - kabando tena for lack of a serious challenger after wathika's death.

8. Tetu - No frontrunner yet but they don't re-elect anyone. So anyone but githinji.

9. Nyeri town - Esther set to make history by being re-elected for the third time.

The Jubilee primaries/nominations are on 21st April, right?
Looking forward to Nairobi, Mbuvi vs Kenneth.

So who's going for the undesired post of Senator? Yaani, the country is not talking of Senators, it's like this position doesn't exist anymore.

BBI will solve it

People(politicians) have seen that what we kept saying is true. Senate is absolutely useless!!

It's work can easily be handled by a committee of the National Assembly with 47 members(1 per county)

Disband it

You guys are missing the point of what the senate is...the Senate is a house of equity.
the problem is that we have people who want to eat and are looking for offices with budgets. The senate is meant to balance 'rough/raw' democracy of the national assembly. The national assembly which is roughly the equivalent of representative houses for population is almost representative of populations i.e. Nairobi which has 4m people has 17 seats in the national assembly (just slightly more than 200k people per seat) compared to Kwale county which has less than 700k people has 4 seats. (just less than 200k people per seat). Nakuru with it's 1.6m people has 11 constituencies. Garissa with its 6 constituencies has like 600k people. All these have 1 seat in the senate. Nairobi has 1, Garissa has 1, Marsabit has 1. This is where equity and egalitarianism of our system takes place. The problem with most kenyans is that they don't strive to understand WHY we have these seats. WHY do we have WOMEN REPS, WHY do we have SENATORS. WHY do we have 290 parliamentary seats and yet we voted YES to this constitution. Some of us who were opposed to the then constitution actually READ IT and understood it and pointed out holes in it but the lazy minded ones who complain today walifuata upepo... now sit down and get educated on WHY these positions exist. Remember - while we are DEMOCRATIC we are also a REPUBLIC where we are a nation state with a certain equality between its members. the senate seat has less meaning to a nairobian than it has to a guy in Lamu with their 100k people. That is where the 'amu' people feel like they have a voice equal to the luhyas of Kakamega.

I actually read and reread the katiba, saw the issues and wondered "Kwani tutashinda hapa?"

You have not told us how the senate is helping us. It could easily be replaced by a 47-person committee of the National Assembly and achieve the same!

How is the Senate the house of equity? Equity for whom? In fact it is the house of inequity because you have some Senators representing small counties population-wise or area-wise while others represent the opposite. Senate was to provide oversight over the county government and they have failed absolutely. Can Sonko tell us where Kidero took 20 billion shillings??? Why are Kidero and other Governors not in jail?

the National Assembly is supposed to be very inward looking... there is no such thing as a national assembly member who represents a county except the women's rep for numerical reasons. any member of parliament is supposed to PRIMARILY LOOK AFTER NUMBER 1! their constituents!! not sijui Coal in Garissa and you are from Bahati... you are supposed to beat to the drum of your employers... That is why I like that gatundu MP Moses Kuria... LOOK AFTER NO.1!!! kila MP akifanya hivyo things will go well. you must always have an eye on your constituency.. hiyo budget inapitishwa... inahusu watu wangu vipi? kama haiwahusu - could I be bought to vote a certain way so that the guys I scratch their backs now will scratch my back when my issue comes for discussion? Kama wamekataa abscond!! vuta pande yako!! What we have is a bunch of people who fail to do what they were employed to do because they want to do everything!
