It's a serious and dangerous conflict of interest. These companies will want to test their products in real warfare and the easiest way is to get the president to create a war somewhere. Such companies should be under the control of the government in order to get contracts or to be allowed to operate otherwise they'd be terrorists developing illegal weapons. But the US is interesting, they never learn, I remember the rivalry between gun manufacturers Smith & Wesson and Colt, Colt supplied guns to the South army yet he was a northerner during the American north and south war, the Colt gun killed the largest number of the northern army where Samuel Colt was a soldier.
