I will soon attend a forum hosted by an aspirant MP(wants to unseat the incumbent, one big a** hole) from my shags. What should I ask him?I am based in Nrb but go home about thrice in a year..the roads off tarmac are pathetic.I have installed solar power for my mum so I am able to charge my phone/laptop whenever I visit..no organized water supply and health facilities..

1. Are you willing to take a pay cut.

2. What are your priorities in the first 6 months 12 months

3. What is your vision for the constituency (you need to know your mp is not a gov and his budget is limited, however is he willing to work with the office of the gov to see that your roads are tarmacked/graded, water is made available etc?

Mpigs are law makers even though they have control over some small funds in the name of CDF. I want to believe the right people to address your issues would be your MCA/county assembly and the governor. I may be wrong.

Indeed. Mps main job is to make the laws of the land. The reason he represents your constituency in that August hse is so as to make sure the laws made do not disadvantage your constituency in any way. Sadly we as Kenyans want to have foolish mps and even more foolish mca's

Do you support local entrepreneurs and how?
Do you submit your tax returns?
Do you 'eat'
How often do you visit the village?
What is your agenda for the people?
Are you accessible?
What have you done for the community so far.
Are you married and to how many wives, any kids..known and hidden?

yes.. this means knocking every door, kissing every *ss until his/her people are taken care of! I remember Bonny Khalwale in the last parliament coming with names of people who had been wronged in one way or another by the ministry of internal security. He would read them... and Parliament would task the then Minister to respond within a certain period of time. That's representation... taking your name to the highest office and complaining if you were wronged. What an MP should be doing is tasking GOK especially on roads that are the central government's responsibility - WHY? Every other time... summoning the minister and not taking excuses.
