What a stupid move! Stupid until this happens  If they are acting on intelligence, then let it be. After all, they have a responsibility upon their land/people, because they would be safe if it was in check in luggage? they have finally figured out what to do for 12 hours  Would a bomb be detonated when the laptop is off? If anything your bag once its checked in can be opened and perused. same as carry on luggage! TSA has a rule that empowers them to ensure that laptops and tablets are checked to ensure that they are indeed laptops and tablets . it involves powering them up! my point is... whatever check they do on a laptop at the back is the same check they do in the front!
