What a stupid move! They should find a smarter way to fight terrorism, please! Don't they know some of these flights, people don't sit, they also work, some taking upto 10 hours...

Have you been to any airport in Europe? You are required to take off your laptop and its scanned alone. If you are travelling from UAE to Ethiopia(Africa) so that you can eventually blow up after 24+ hrs, you will blow in the skies. That scenario can only be used as a case study. TSA has a rule that empowers them to ensure that laptops and tablets are checked to ensure that they are indeed laptops and tablets . it involves powering them up! my point is... whatever check they do on a laptop at the back is the same check they do in the front!
