Savings that go to the government to be plundered and a few individuals to squander wont help the ordinary mwananchi and the general economy. Savings should support investments in order for the economy to benefits.

This will pull in the masses. At 10% coupon they will come in droves. The timing is perfect for the govt since they need the cash. Wanjiku on the other hand is barely beating inflation. Returns need to be higher.

Few details, but if investors will have to pay mobile transaction charges, it will have mediocre return, regardless of tax status.

Wanjiku wont know that, will she? In the end even mama mboga will understand inflation, GDP, interest rates and effects of fiscal policies on her bottom line.

Not to mention learn how to acquire investments. Perhaps leverage too.
