Early May, KQ shall be touching down at JFK with three flights per week.. The same to be increased to daily frequency as viability is established

So has the BASA been signed?Or its obvious it will be signed if not done?

All signed.. Only thing pending is technical review of the specific craft that that will ply the route. Plus background checks on the crew for obvious reasons.
KQ share shall be the highest performer at the NSE before elections

KQ behaves like ancient pseudo scientists in search of
the philosopher's stone (Latin: lapis philosophorum).

Lapis philosophorum is a legendary alchemical substance capable of turning base metals such as mercury into gold or silver.

Everything KQ has done to grow or turn around fortunes is reminiscent of an ancient scientist searching for the philosopher's. From expanding the fleet, modernising the fleet, spinning off JamboJet, new routes in Asia and West Africa, new lounges, expansion of JKIA, numerous consultancies...

The direct flights to USA is just another search for Lapis Philosophurum but Kaka Obiero wants us to believe that salvation is nigh.

Let's review this discussion on May 5th

COOP 255,000 ABP 15.85; IMH 5,000 ABP 35.55; KQ 604,200 ABP 6.96; MTN 23,800 ABP 5.20

Obiero.... My eye has started to turn to KQ. I've been wondering how they will turn the negative equity position so that existing shareholders won't have to 'scoot over' for new money or dig deeper into their pockets.

These new initiatives look like they'll turn around the company in the end. I'd give it 4 years. The issue of course is how the market will react to the developments compared to the current book position. The developments look quite positive whereas the books look, from an equity perspective, absolutely horrendous.

Mbuvi we will never forget your contribution to KQ.. Kenya Airways (KQ) upset the odds by winning Africa’s Leading Airline at the 2016 World Travel Awards.
The Nairobi-based carrier unseated South Africa Airways as Africa’s best airline, an award SAA had taken home for 22 years in a row. The ceremony was held at Farnborough Airshow in the UK recently.
