To add onto your observation, on the question of Slave trade and slavery - in retrospection, it indicts many other and diverse people of the world, whites, Arabs and indeed Africans themselves. A sad chapter in human history. @Nandwa, coz you are biased to one side. Just like the way you mis-reported by putting a on-sided headline "King Salman to consolidate Indonesia" leaving out Japan, China, Brunei etc... passing a wrong picture that he's only visiting Indonesia! So evasive its comical! One can never bury the truth though. I already dispensed with areas where I think Israelis have erred. But on the same breath I will call out the unreasonable brigade across Middle East and their ‘client base’ that continues to hold stubborn and dogmatic position on the very existence of Israel. If Israel weren’t resolute they would probably not be in existence today. Just as absolute power corrupts leaders, so does absolute fanaticism blind the people from logic

If Israel weren’t resolute they would probably not be in existence today. I feel you. I am aware of all the conventional misinformation that has been spread around that it is Middle East position to destroy Israel or "wipe it off the map" ( as alluded) @Nandwa, I see you fell for that lie. And this is so ridiculous. The U.N. itself has suggested that this widely cited statement by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was actually a mistranslation. This phrase "Wipe off the map" is untrue. Unfortunately, it has become fashionable for some people to use it against countries that are anti-Israeli foreign policy.

Their positive contribution to human development is very significant.
Part of it informed of sympathy - noting that Israel has endured immense hostility not only from her neighbours but also from..... you know who...
I wish Israel's neighbours would adopt a temperate approach and get their 'clients' around the world to follow suit.
Which people are these? Outside of the conservative western nations in particular. Modern day Israel is actively engaged in an apartheid policy in Palestine and has actively participated in an arms race in the most volatile region on this earth. Unfortunatley, with this blind support for Israel, when it becomes the world Superpower, they will bring back Jewish religion. I want to remind Christians like @nandwa, that they should not forget it is Jewish teaching that Jesus, the son of Mary, is considered to be a ‘bastard’ and an ‘imposter’ whose death "by hanging". It stated in Deuteronomy 21:23 that crucifixion as a form of hanging, where Jews confirmed him as "the cursed of the Lord-God" So this will shock them Christians who have been cheated into supporting a European + Jewish ally thinking they are supporting a Biblical prophecy... This blindness might continue until the true Messiah, the son of Mary, returns and destroys the FALSE Messiah (Anti-Christ). That would be the only time Christians will wake up to the reality of the deception. Unfortunately, that will be too late to change direction, as God's punishment of the Israel's godlessness, wickedness and oppression will have already landed...

Israel exploiting the fissures in Islam World to curry favour with the Arab neighboursQuote:The U.S.-Israel proposal encompasses almost all Arab States, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, as well as Egypt, Jordan and possibly Lebanon and Tunisia.
This proposal’s principal objective is a wider Arab-Israeli peace agreement and an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, the key selling point behind this initiative is mutual concerns regarding Iran, and the proposal has a goal to present a unified front against the Islamic Republic.
Netanyahu stated during the press conference that “for the first time in my lifetime, and for the first time in the life of my country, Arab countries in the region do not see Israel as an enemy, but, increasingly, as an ally.” He further stated that “the great opportunity for peace comes from a regional approach involving our newfound Arab partners in the pursuit of a broader peace with the Palestinians.” Just as absolute power corrupts leaders, so does absolute fanaticism blind the people from logic

European Union snub on IsraelQuote:BRUSSELS (AP) — European Union foreign ministers are to discuss whether to hold high-level talks with Israel soon amid concern over its settlement policy and commitment to a two-state solution, diplomats said Friday. The diplomats said the EU must be clear in its dealings with Israel, especially given the U.S. administration's unclear position on the decades-long conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. One said that any future official talks with Israel could not be "business as usual. Things have to be said very clearly to the Israelis." The diplomats briefed reporters about Monday's foreign affairs talks in Brussels on the condition that they are not named. The Palestinians want the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem — territories Israel captured in the 1967 Mideast war — for their future state.

Russia risks show down with Israel over Syria, - or is it the other way round!Quote:The theater this time is Syria, but the precipitating factor for the next conflict — believe it or not — isn’t Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad’s use of chemical weapons against his own people. It is Iran’s most lethal proxy, Hezbollah. Just as absolute power corrupts leaders, so does absolute fanaticism blind the people from logic
