Trump won the rust belt by promising to return manufacturing jobs back to the US and put workers back at work. While he can bully people to do manufacting in the US to sell to the market can he bully them not to automate? Anyone with a keen eye on tech can tell AI is getting to a place where some of the jobs people hoped would come back will be taken up. Quote:“The automation of factories has already decimated jobs in traditional manufacturing, and the rise of artificial intelligence is likely to extend this job destruction deep into the middle classes, with only the most caring, creative or supervisory roles remaining.” — Stephen Hawking Quote:“What to do about mass unemployment? This is going to be a massive social challenge. There will be fewer and fewer jobs that a robot cannot do better [than a human]. These are not things that I wish will happen. These are simply things that I think probably will happen.” — Elon Musk Quote:You cross the threshold of job-replacement of certain activities all sort of at once. So, you know, warehouse work, driving, room cleanup, there’s quite a few things that are meaningful job categories that, certainly in the next 20 years [will go away].” — Bill Gates America will be great again... but not Americans who fail to move from the oncoming truck of change! All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

All valid points but there is a reason why the Midwest (rust belt) overwhelmingly voted Trump in. It might seem that manufacturing days are over and AI might be the future whichever way you look at it, but that would be a disaster not only for the rust belt but for most of middle income working class America. This is the very reason people voted for Trump. He is quirky and outlandish enough to actually bring manufacturing back to America and put thousands of disenchanted Americans back to work even if it means soliciting bailouts from anywhere and everywhere. A lot of people are silently putting their trust and hopes on Trump to bring back their source of livelihood that once made the rust belt flourish and made its people very progressive. They believe he can find a way and I actually also do believe too that he is such an unconventional politician who doesn't care much about politics as long as he delivers what he promised. Which in a twisted way is actually how leaders are supposed to be. Trump only cares about America and a lot of Americans are starting to get on board with his controversial ideologies. He is already planning on building the border wall as promised, he is kicking out Muslims, deporting illegals enmasse, looking for ways to repeal Obama care, pretty much already doing everything that he promised. It's not a stretch to think this guy can somehow bring manufacturing back to the States which was one of his prominent promise. Honestly, if he can pull that off successfully, he might go down as one of the most beloved president and will win reelection in a landslide. The Midwesterners need Trump to give them back their dignity and if he somehow does it, it won't matter what the liberal States do in the next election because Midwesterners will vote him back to the last man. Those manufacturing jobs are a big big big deal to Americans especially in the crucial rust belt states which is usually where the elections are won or lost. Trump might be outrageous to some but not everyone thinks so.

He can bring back manufacturing but he cannot bring back jobs. Us manufacturing is at an all time high but look at the jobs. They are all going to robots. Telling coal miners that they will be going back to mining ni Urongo mtupu.

The man sold fake university degrees to the same fellas in the rust belt. How you expect the king of bankruptcy to create jobs is something that I'm waiting to see. In the first 100 days, he has lied every day...Expecting this fella to do anything of importance is like expecting to see Alphdoti in a church near you. Thieves are not good people. Tumeelewana?

The good news is that the election of Trump was largely issue based not tribe based or race based or religion based. In fact a lot of people who voted Obama in 2012 voted for Trump in 2016. Of course there were some race and religiouus issues as well. But that wasn't the key.
The bad news is that trump lied through his teeth to get elected and is still lying. He cannot bring manufacturing jobs or mining to the level they used to be, no matter how quirky he is.
Deporting illegals will raise wages for people like plumbers and other laborers but it will take its toll on the pocketbooks of the middle class. So now if you have a plumbing problem and you want to hire a plumber, you will be paying $100 per hour for labour. People will go broke and eventually stop spending. This will slow down the economy.
The other bad news is that trump is good at fooling people with smoke and mirrors. He recently claimed that he was going to rescue Christians is Syria. No such thing will happen but it got him good publicity in some circles.
He recently enacted a law that allows coal companies to dump waste into rivers. He says deregulation will bring back coal jobs. In fact deregulation will result in higher profits for coal companies bigger bonuses executives and very few new jobs. Coal job losses are due to automation and cheaper alternatives like natural gas. Deregulation will not bring back jobs. Again he is lying to the gullible public.
He recently made a big deal about the fact that he was going restart the keystone XL pipeline to bring back jobs. Only about 30 permanent jobs will be created by the pipeline. Most of the benefit goes to executives in terms of bigger bonuses.
We've been here before. During the Reagan and Bush years there was a lot of deregulation and tax cuts. Only the very wealthy truly benefited.
