Why dont you sit down with the dude, find out what biz he thinks he would excel in or what he has some passion in...alafu,he help him with some kidogo capital to start a ka-biz. I have a rela of mine who was in a similar sitiation...and since he was very good at relating with chics and marketing,i helped him with some cash and he's now doing super well selling hipstas and tops at Mtindwa. He started off with the kidogo cash i gave him to open one ka-kiosk,and now has 3 and has employed three other dudes! He's also in college now, doing what he loves(graphic design)and paying his own fees!! My point...your guy doesnt have to put all his hopes in employment kwanza if his papers arent very appealing,he can start a small biz,and grow pole pole and even get enough chums to take himself to a college of his choice. Encourage him to start small and think BIG. My two cents...

Thanks. U r spot on. Had been thinking along same lines. But this guy is not only straight from sch,he is fresh from shaggs. Needs a bit of exposure b4 he picks a trade. And also just has to suffer the indignity of employment so he can learn a thing or two about being a servant. I know he is the technical handy kind, fascinated by 'toys' including comps, cars n mobiles.he is keen on elctronics n electrical repairs/installations. Thought he could could do a job b4 we find somewhere where he can learn his trade. I will set him up with time.

where is Ali,he is then one with tentacles in every trade. He must require apprentices from time to time...hehehe?

Fresh from shagz? wow,now thats a tough one. How about you set up something for him back in shags first? you know,in that ka-town of shags? Option 2 would be,he comes to Nai and tries to upgrade his grades(From Kenya Poly maybe?) especially if he's into electronics and stuff, then he can comfortably go to Colle from that point coz am sure he's a determined guy and will work harder this time round...

Good ideas. will suggest them. But as far as I this jamaa is impatient with abstracts and theories but quick learner by doing.

DT Dobbie and Toyota K used to have apprenticeships? do they still have them? Their websites say nothing. I hear tiz expe but their graduants do very well.
