Migrants in Germany committed or tried to commit some 69,000 crimes in the first quarter of 2016, according to a police report that could raise unease, especially among anti-immigrant groups, about Chancellor Angela Merkel's liberal migrant policy.

There was a record influx of more than a million migrants into Germany last year and concerns are now widespread about how Europe's largest economy will manage to integrate them and ensure security.

In Cologne at New Year, hundreds of women said they were groped, assaulted and robbed, with police saying the suspects were mainly of North African and Arab appearance. Prosecutors said last week three Pakistani men seeking asylum in Germany were under investigation after dozens of women said they were sexually harassed at a music festival.

Americans support Trump's immigration ban.

http://www.reuters.com/a...upporters-idUSKBN15E0BH

Quote:
Many of President Donald Trump’s core political supporters had a simple message on Sunday for the fiercest opponents of his immigration ban: Calm down.

The relaxed reaction among the kind of voters who drove Trump’s historic upset victory - working- and middle-class residents of Midwest and the South - provided a striking contrast to the uproar that has gripped major coastal cities, where thousands of protesters flocked to airports where immigrants had been detained.

In the St. Louis suburb of Manchester, Missouri, 72-year-old Jo Ann Tieken characterized the president as bringing reason into an overheated debate.

“Somebody has to stand up, be the grown up and see what we can do better to check on people coming in,” she said. “I’m all for everybody to stop and take a breath … Just give it a chance.”

A senior Trump administration official said political considerations had little to do with the executive orders. They rather represent a reaction to the 2015 mass shooting in San Bernardino, California; the Boston Marathon bombing; and multiple attacks by radicalized groups in Europe.

“The reality is that the situation that exists today in parts of France, Germany and parts of Belgium is not a situation that we want replicated inside the United States,” one official told Reuters.

Candace Wheater, a 60-year-old retired school cafeteria worker from Spring Lake, Michigan, also referenced the attacks in Brussels and Paris.

"Look at what’s happening in Europe," she said. "I don’t dare travel there, out of fear.”

Steve Hirsch, 63, from Manassas, Virginia, drove to Washington’s Dulles airport on Sunday to pick somebody up, rather than to protest as hundreds of others did.

He said he supported Trump's order. "A country is not a country if it doesn't have borders," he added.

He lauded Trump’s actions as a calculated step toward the larger goal of tightening border security.

Trump is NOT targeting muslims. He only singled out 7 countries which have been overrun by terrorists like ISIS, houthis, alshabaab, or have in the past been classified as state sponsors as terror by CIA like Iran, Sudan. For countries overrun by terrorists its difficult to screen travelers and some of the fighters/terrorists could slip through to the US.

FYI the countries with the biggest muslim populations are Indonesia, Malaysia, pakistan, India, Turkey, Egypt, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, morocco, Algeria, Jordan etc and none has been banned. Note that only 20% of the world's muslims live in arab countries.

Also note that if you are a christian, yazidi, budhist, atheist, animist etc from those 7 banned countries you are still banned from entering the US. So one cant say that Trump has banned muslims. If you are a muslim from e.g. kenya, tanzania, mali, gambia, malaysia, kazakhstan, serbia, lebanon, turkey etc etc you are still welcome in the US.

Where is Qatar and Saudia on that list?

But they are busy battling houthi terrorists in Yemen. How can they be listed as bad guys?

Houthi are Yemeni! period! They are like Alshaitan... they want to ruin their country - sawa! as long as they don't breach the borders! Saudis have always played a dirty game with Yemen! they were responsible for the two Yemens problem and as soon as they united - they started meddling again and again. Do you know the dead Saudi King Abudl Aziz swore never to let Yemen be united! They are not there to help! they are bombing that place to destabilize it!

Supporting a certain version of islam is not the same as supporting terror.

Saudi Arabia is the origin of all these things. They sponsor terror far and wide! They even have their dirty fingers in Al Shabab's being! They just know that the US cannot do anything about them... NOT YET! The rest were fall boys. Let's see... how many typical americans have been killed by citizens of the banned countries since 1975... while in their country?

Britain’s borders was one of the important issue for Leave supporters during Britain’s decision to leave the EU. Brits who were worried about immigration were more than those who were not.

It may be incorrect to say Brits do not appreciate the US president's worry. Say the remain guys. And they were many, yet still the minority.

Stop imagining things

Theresa May ‘does not agree’ with Trump's refugee ban, Downing Street says

Boris Johnson: US immigration order divisive and wrong

Just Google the above

There is in law what we call the spirit of the law. The spirit in Trump is an evil spirit. I even heard him mention God is with us a number of times and I saw an evil spirit glaring at me on my computer screen.

Brexitors were just tired of too many immigrants. In fact they were complaining more about all countries and not just muslims.

That was an economic thing

This one by Trump has nothing, but is based on fear.

The fear of evil muslims coming to take the christian virgins.

Ask hardwood why he is so excited to quote the terrible things muslims have done in Germany. Yet the German gov't isn't complaining as much as Trump.

There is a difference between real issues. I also don't want to have 1 million Ugandans employed in Kenya. But I know a charlatan when I see one.

American muslims have done nothing wrong in that country. Muslims from Sudan...Kwanza I had no idea there were Muslims in Sudan other than those that play basketball.

Somalis - at this rate Duale's cousin in Somali gov't is now a terrorist...

I could go down that list and ask Trump...Which Iranian bombed America...The ones I know from Iran are the ones who run away from their own gov't.

Yet

These Saudis who are in al shabaab in Somali hurting Kenyans...Finance the destruction of Yemen...Is where Osama was born and bred. Is the home of the brand of Islam that won't even allow a christian to partake his beer....These ones are the ones who are nice?

Trump is a bigot...But a bigot who knows that his money comes first. He will never ban Saudis even if they shot Melania just because Trump Tower has to exist there.

That is a dangerous man...One who will destabilize this world so that when he goes to a Trump rally he can hear....Lock them up...

Charlatan. ooopps there goes my visa.

Following Dunbar's number, we can put the number of acquaintances of the average al shabab member at say 150. If there were 120 al shabab, that number is 18,000 approximately. This is the number of people who may or may not be aware of the men's activities and may or may not approve.

Now there are more than 120 al shabab, right? What could be the total number of residents in Somalia who may know of the terrorist men's activities and may or may not approve?

You can scream as much as you want in Kenya but Americans are happy with the ban.

'WHAT HE DID WAS CORRECT:' TRUMP VOTERS SUPPORT IMMIGRATION BAN

...Most Trump voters were quick to voice their support for the executive order that blocks citizens of seven mostly-Muslim countries from coming to the U.S. for at least three months, bans all refugees for four months and bars Syrian refugees indefinitely. They saw the ban as a smart way to protect the country from terrorist attacks, and they dismissed arguments that the order amounted to a religious ban.

“I don’t think he’s picked out a religion, he’s picked out countries that need more vetting,” retired Army lieutenant colonel Stephen Urban, a Democrat who supported Bernie Sanders in the primary and Trump in the general, tells Newsweek. Urban thinks it’s important to view the immigration order in the context of Trump’s recent directive to hire 5,000 more Border Patrol agents. “I support his policy 100 percent,” Urban says. “He just wants to have [agents] in place to process people and make sure they’re vetted.”

Even a Trump voter whose father immigrated from the Middle East called the motive behind the order “understandable” and says it doesn’t lessen his support for Trump.

President Donald Trump on Sunday defended his move to ban entry of refugees and people from seven nations.

"To be clear, this is not a Muslim ban, as the media is falsely reporting," Trump said in a statement on Sunday. "This is not about religion—this is about terror and keeping our country safe. There are over 40 different countries worldwide that are majority Muslim that are not affected by this order."

People creating unnecessary hullabaloos. USA is one of the easiest countries to visit with genuine and reasonable reasons. Trump just temporarily suspended visit/ refugees from countries that have been overrun by terrorists; until when proper screening is in place.
That order should not have targeted those that had already started the journey or in transit.
