Any experience on antenatal services at Nairobi Hosp? Personally, I found them wanting. Nurses very unfriendly and not professional in their work. What are your views?

I'd rather go for a personal gynae instead.....
There.... I get peronalised service and the fees may not be that high......
There are Nairobi hospital Gynaecologists with clinics in town.......I know one who charges 1000 to 1500/= per visit and he's very good and calm.....

As for the Nurses at NRB hospital..... Ive never had bad experience with them...

Hi, Fundaah. Been going to Nairobi women's hospital and am not satisfied with their services. If you could give me the contacts of the personal Gynae you talking about i would really appreciate.

@fudaah, could you be referring to Dr. Wahome?? People, he is the epitomy of profesionalism. The antenatal services at nairobi womens are very mediocre unless with your own "mkali" personal doctor.Experience speaking.

@Kaburu, there is also a dr. Wanyoike at upperhill medical centre. Was referred there by a friend and so far, so good.

Allow me to comment. Most young doctors seem to agree Aga Khan now offers better care, perhaps since they became a teaching institution.

On delivery, Aga Khan spend time to teach new mothers how to patiently wash babies, breastfeed etc. Though Nariobi must do it 'in their way', impression I get is the nurses are abit stretched.

I second Memmy in recommending Dr. Wanyoike Gichuhi in Upperhill Medical Centre.He has been my gyna for the last 10 yrs, my sister see's him as well.
I recommend also having two gynas at the same time as gynecological problems can sometimes be hard to diagnose and people may respond differently to medication. I had such one experience and having two doctors saved me from the surgeon's knife as i was able to evaluate feedback from both and eventually they both (individually) arrived at the the same diagnosis

@Precious/fundaa...

And what could cause bleeding in the first trimester if a scan shows the pregnancy is ok? My gal is currently experiencing that and the doc said to take a lot of rest
