The UN Security Council passed a resolution about three weeks ago, demanding that Israel halt the settlement programme in what are considered Palestinian lands But Trump has promised to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem - a move that Palestinians consider debilitating to their cause.
@Nandwa, can they shift United Nations from New York to Jerusalem? Now let me give you some porridge stuff...
You see, in the same way US refused to join League of Nations, eventually it collapsed, so is UN. All that the Congress has to do is to pass a resolution demanding withdrawal of US from the UN... And who controls the US Senate and the House of Representatives? Jews! So the US withdrawal from UN, do you think that is impossible? No!
When US withdraws from UN, can UN remain in New York? No! That will be the end of the UN. What about the World Bank and IMF? Israel cannot rule the world while IMF remains the premium economy institution in the world for monetary policy
So the world has to have a new monitory system... Something else which will be located in Jerusalem will replace World bank and IMF...
:-) :-)
I hear you brother.
To answer your question above – No sir, they wouldn’t!
Even though you referenced porridge as a factor influencing your views:-d :-d
here is my take nonetheless;
Indeed as you rightly observe, the US to a very large extend controls matters at UN, - wouldn’t it then be an absurdity for them to quit membership of the world body!
The realistic thing is to stay and continue having their way as they please.
Isn’t it also obvious that the existence of UN actually benefits the US a great deal – case in point – dealing with Iran.
Taking notice of the long shot actions of one nut-case of a lawmaker from ‘the South’, then going ahead to present it as the mainstream US aspiration, is to be unfair to them.
The chances of UN headquarters ever moving to Israel is veery slim, let alone US agreeing to cede the mandate of hosting it - with all the glory and splendour that it comes with.
Though a truism, I am surprised that YOU of all people do agree that the UN would virtually collapse if US were to withdraw! Would you say the same for Russia!!
All in all almost all previous US administrations have pressured Israel to accept the two state solution with little success. Obamas almost went bare knuckles, especially in their sunset days.
But with Trump in place now, it is anybody's guess!
Whatever the case the rest of UN membership is not likely to climb down from that view point.
Just as absolute power corrupts leaders, so does absolute fanaticism blind the people from logic
