President Uhuru Kenyatta will, beginning tomorrow, embark on a countrywide tour aimed at urging Kenyans to turn out in large numbers for voter registration.

The President will kick-off his tours with visits to Muranga, Nyeri, Meru, Laikipia and Kirinyaga counties this week.

On Thursday, the President will be in Muranga County. He is scheduled to start at Blue Post and then head to Jogoo Kimakia, Gatunyu, Gatanga Junction, Gacharage, Kangari, Kigumo, Kirere, Muthithi, Kaharati, Maragua and Muranga towns, Kahuhia, Kangema and Kiria-ini.

On Friday, the President will be in Nyeri County, and is expected to visit Kiamariga, Kaburuini, Kawarigi, Karatina, Ichamara, Kiandu, Nyeri Town, King’ong’o, Kiganjo and Chaka.

On Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, the President will tour Meru, Laikipia and Kirinyaga counties respectively.

Embu Wednesday.

Mombasa and Nakuru and many more counties are lined up as the next areas the President will visit to urge Kenyans to register to vote. Details of the visits will be announced at a later date.

His Excellency the President desires to see the largest number of Kenyans exercise their democratic right to register as voters, and importantly cast their ballots in August.

Hapa mido crass ndio iko in denial.
Majority of Uhuru supporters are mountaneers are have not taken up the voters card just like the majority of baba supporters are from the lakeside.
Why would he waste time going to areas where he has least support.
I have also not seen baba urging the voters in Nyeri to do the same.

Muthee Kariuki Uhuru failure is inevitable,He has misused, mistreated and taken for granted people who voted him,He could only afford to launch a road in muranga which kibaki government had constructed 7km in six months while his government while his government spent 4yrs to do the rest 31km,
Kibaki government postponed northern collectors tunnel due to adverse environmental impact which would emanate thereon but Uhuru has put his personal interest first.

Now that they say Ouru has failed then let them vote for baba so that he can build roads in muranga and also give them the goodies kibaki and Ouru didn't. Fimbo ya mbali ndio inaua nyoka. And also charity begins not at home but at the far away politically hostile lands of kavirondo.

It's a democracy. Even when Obama's brother Malik Obama felt that Obama presidency never helped him, he voted for "fimbo ya mbali" Trump who he believes is the one who will solve all his problems.

Why force people to collect voters cards?
Will you also force me to vote on that day?
Plus you can't legally deny citizens govt (national and county)services just coz they have not collected the card, the services are their RIGHT.

Isn't the apathy reflective of a deeper disillusionment with CORD/JP and a feeling that the 2 farasais will not improve the common's mans' life?
Mind you in 2013, the whole of 2m eligible pple didnt vote. 2m folks!
That's a huge number for a country of 44m pple by all accounts!

Its now being forced on pple coz wananchi are getting tired of this 5-year charade and can see all the major leaders in both parties are scions of KANU, they who thought of themselves only as they plundered +254.

To tell you the truth, no much economic business will be transacted this year, economic activity will slow down in the period leading to the GE, and just as the prezo is sworn in...bang! the festive mood kicks in - wasted year if you ask me.

I hope wananchi are prioritising registering for NHIF, so that they can take care of their future medical bills rather than seek these same politicians (then earning mega bucks)to attend their medical fundraising harambees.

Masukush,are ID numbers unique?
What does the IEBC use to uniquely identify the voter?
If I register with my ID card then try to register using my passport, would IEBC know that I am already a registered voter?
