Some Kenyan court rulings are very odd....

strange

It's encouraging to see that our courts are working. You ignore court orders at your own peril. Kudos to the judge.

Not really ...not as advertised anyway. I am in the doctor's corner, but the union leaders should have been jailed outright in normal application of the law in such a case...but nope, the judge has used discretion, coming up with a middling ruling that is meant to apply pressure to make the strike disappear.
To the court, 2 issues are clear:
1) The court held that there is no CBA
2) ...ergo the strike has no legal cover
3) There was contempt of court.
Clear as day.
This is judicial interference .. pure and simple. The govt doesn't have the cojones to jail the leaders then find out what the consequences of that action will be.

On the contrary, I beg to differ. ..The main reason the courts are ignored is because of such sentences.
Why not sentence them for six months on the spot and after that it is very likely that there won't be any union official who will disobey a court order again.
Unfortunately in Kenya, there's is always selective application of the law by the judges.

Read this thread and tell me why anyone in their right minds can wake up at 4am to vote in these fellas.

Then tell me that adding 40k to a doctors salary would have saved this woman.

I'm putting this here because this is exactly like a story I know something about personally.

Next time one of the politicians feels the need to go out of the country to get alternative labor, they should also include politicians in the list of people they wish to replace.

Thieves are not good people. Tumeelewana?

goggles aside, on this doctors issue, who is supposed to sort it out, I find this thing of having the president involved in everything worrying, we moved to a system where institutions were supposed to be 'strong'.
why was the president even talking to the doctors, considering health is a devolved function, especially in the absence of the governors representation.

its sad that this has now been turned into a political issue, the doctors, the news guys, and the social media is leaning towards their political inclination, all that to the detriment of the poor kenyans, the latter who have not found it fit to go and question their county representatives on the matter, the same poor kenyans who will still vote in the same governors and MCAs.

Sad. But couldn't those doctors call relatives to donate blood? Or ask the relatives to take the patient to another hospital if they didn't have blood or an ambulance. I see alot of negligence here by the doctors and they should be sued. I hope this isn't the new "strategy" doctors are using to punish gov't .
