Seems fair, ukitaka kazi una apply, so that latter you won't start complaining sijui hardship, sijui facilities. It's good since it will be up to the counties to go out of their ways to attract the docs, na hi mambo ya herd mentality for the docs iishe. Yenyewe, why must they be posted by gava? Even attachos wanatafutiwa. Kwani hao wanakaa aje special? Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

Direct posting ensures that doctors take jobs in not so attractive locations. If its apply, who will apply to work in Mandera etc? Business opportunities are like buses, there's always another one coming

An unbiased reading of this CBA between government and KMPDU of June 2013, does indeed show: https://files.acrobat.com/a/prev...e-4ace-907d-72ffdb4c976a1. as with most strikes, primary issues began with Union Rights and checkoff from members 2. no agreement was reached on some items, with them being enclosed showing different positions (job groups, residency, internship) 3. salary & allowance proposals (~300%) suspended until such time when SRC will provide clear guidelines Can government continue to train/pay/develop a worker class who they can't manage? Can doctors work with civil servants who have made political pursuits (governors, MPs, MCAs, etc) the only worthy ones in Kenya? If both sides have a case, how does everyone get out of this muddle?

Let those doctors who dont want to work for govt quit. Let them go into private practice and earn that 1m they are demanding. A starting salary of about 200k offered by govt is good by any standard, now that many docs work in smaller towns where the cost of living is low.

No. I am suggesting that wanjiko who lives on a-dollar-a-day amechoka and all salaries should be reasonable, even hiyo ya mpigs should be reduced.

In my view,1million and 150K for doctors and politicians respectively are reasonable pay If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

A few examples elsewhere... USA approx average yearly pay Family Doctor: $195,000 Representative lower/upper: $174,000 Teacher: $57,000 Switzerland approx average annual pay Family doctor: $121,000 MP: $64,000 Teacher: $68,000

KulaRaha wrote:How much is hardwood paid? More or less than a Doctor? Is he paid from tax money? In my view the 200k offered by govt is ok for a junior doctor. BTW that amount is nearly what the junior doctor's professor at medical school is earning.
