Well put, JUbilee of course realized this before Clinton loss and emphasis is 100% turnout for Jubilee voters. Jubilee is a well managed party and once you see them outline a specific strategic objective, believe me they will perform. Think of all the MCA's who do not want status quo change with their new payslips and many others, they will be out there combing the villages for votes, kwanza MCA's are very grassroots people and there are many loud mouths fighting for this position, expect a very high voter turnout...too many of us can't risk or even bare to think of status quo change..


In the late 1970's there was another group who thought their hegemony would last forever. A bunch of businessmen who came to dominate central kenya and thought they would give guidance to the community. They alienated central kenya voters by killing JM and they thought some guy was a passing cloud. They took prime lands and conned people with land-buying companies(tenderpreneurship of those days) . Well when change did come in 1979 the central kenya voters did not warm up to them and they all lost and their hegemony came to an end.

After that 1983 and 1988 election the turnout was always below 40%. It is only after new champions Matiba/Rubia came to the fore that central kenya once again warmed up to politics. In 1997 when Matiba said boycott turnout in Nairobi was only 53%. Kibaki lost and central kenya voters accepted and moved when the results were announced. It is always said that people who don't learn from history will often repeat it.

As kibaki used to say in 2007 on the election day people pretend to be so busy, that's when they want to take their cows to the vet. The man understood the central kenya vote. There is nothing like a paramount chief who determines voting habits.

There is a realization which is emerging that being in govt doesn't really add value except for some elites and their relathieves. That usually marks the end of the hegemony. History repeats itself

Your comments on the other 24 years?

Majority of us may never have anything to show for our tribesmen being at the top.Only close relatives can say/show something.Okuyos only need an enabling environment.Infrustructure,market for produce.etc

However as a community(okuyus) we are weary/suspicious of someone who shows open hatred and swears to deal with us when in power.By telling people do not pay rent that person is economically finishing the land lord.This far our elections are about the The Okuyo Economic Supporter Vs The Okuyo Economic Subbotuer.

Remove Baba from the election equation and things will be different.Okuyos are not necessarily for UK but so long as it is Vs Baba then we shall be out 100% and from 3.00am to vote for UK
