Guys,

How does one go about reducing incidents of one's car getting scratched/dented at the parking lot i.e by people opening car doors carelessly?

I think one thing to do is start this habit - ALWAYS park between cars that are already parked so you can take their numbers. Then as you leave,check both sides to be sure you are OK and undented. Otherwise there is little else one can do save for mounting nasty spikes on the sides of the car so the offending vehicle also gets a nasty take away as well smile

Park your car at home ama buy a motorbike. But if it's that irritating,employ a watchie and leave him guarding your car. I hope it works.

Park at an appropriate distance from the next car. I have found people who at shopping malls and other parking park there cars like loaves of bread in a crate. When I want to drive off,I will not waste my time trying to look for you.

Man,the parking lines are there to guide you.

@Chaka,I feel for you but it is bad luck,you can only avoid it by some of these;

1. Parking slots are NOT of standardised width; avoid the very narrow ones!

2. Drunkards may cause your car scrathes; avoid going clubbing with your car,take a cab ride!

3. Leave reasonable space between your car and the other two; dont park and leave little or no space for driver of next car

The list can go on...
