Waste of government bundles and time...he doesn't need to declare what is already in the law.

The one on 27th Dec was understandable.

At this rate , no wonder the economy is stagnating. How many billions are lost in these public holidays ? but i understand this better than the 27th.26 was already a public holiday so why did he add 27 ?

To please the people

BTW this is not the first time

Today, facebook was reminding me of a rant I made against then gvt spokesman Alfred Mutwaa exactly 5 years ago

He had announced 2 Jan 2012 a public holiday coz 1st was a Sunday

The law requires the same to be gazetted. That is all CS is doing.

For those wondering about 27th,my thoughts are that our Xmas migration to upcountry is to blame. That Xmas came on a sunday, people needed an extra day to travel back to their work stations.

2011 had a similar pattern. Muthaura sent Mutua of Cobra Squad aka Mutua chap chap to announce there was no 27th holiday

27th shouldn't have been a holiday

27th was purely a political gift...the 2nd is by law.

The law states something like this: "That if a public holiday falls on a Sunday, then Monday the following day will be a holiday..."

The one for 27th was unique since the following Monday after Sunday 25th was also a public holiday, 26th boxing day!

If two holidays concise, I propose we have a superholiday.
