The KES are the same color but... how would you know? KQ's shareholders haven't seen a penny in dividends in 4 years!

An article by Galgalo Bocha in the Business Daily Posted Thursday, December 29 2016

Extracts:

Quote:
For the third day consecutively, thousands of Jambo Jet passengers Thursday continued to experience delays and cancellation of their flights to various holiday destinations in the Coast region.

Kenya Coast Tourism Association (KCTA) chairman Mohammed Hersi said the situation had seriously affected the high expectation of hoteliers during this festive season.

He wondered why the domestic airline, owned by Kenya Airways, had resorted to overbook passengers beyond its capacity, hence inconveniencing their visit and stay in various hotels.

He adds: “Why don’t you just sell what you can handle instead of giving a false promise of landing in Ukunda or Malindi only to land in Mombasa?

In business, this is deception and it creates a terrible negative vibe besides some passengers may opt to sue you.

Please we want you to focus on flying rather than fighting cases.

The situation has affected tourism businesses in the South Coast tourist resort areas of Diani and Ukunda and Mombasa, Malindi and Lamu in North Coast.

Make your appeasement of consequence by sharing a link.

Otherwise, your appeasement is inconsequential because one party has had their only annual holiday screwed up while another party has had their bed-night figures screwed up prior to an erection year.

The Mandazi comment notwithstanding, I have forwarded the "apology" to the only current bean in my githeri.

If my landing rights are not compromised, you will hear nothing further from me about this matter.

However, if landing is denied.......

Excuses, excuses, excuses. You might think that only Jambo Jet was affected by the holiday season which is of course not true. Just to sample:

Higher occupation of holiday hotels- We don't hear hotels saying they had purposed to increase room capacity or set up tents.

More alcohol consumed - EABL are not saying they had invited Jesus to turn more water into beer.

More landings throughout - Durex not saying that the jualas they ordered are still stuck in pirate infested Somali waters.

No complains from long distance buses.

There is no excuse for booking beyond the confirmed and available capacity! KQ & JJ are just mediocre.

Indeed there was a cock up, but between me and you, this was actually intentional.. JJ knew that the delivery of the new craft was off the mark, but agreed to book oversupply onward to KQ.. All of the affected passengers got relayed via the 787 which almost quadrupled daily capacity based on available seats. Smart move

Means that we need to learn from each other to grow our wealth.. Blanket putting down of KQ based on past events may make some miss the real take off, which will surely take place in H1 2017
