1. Anybody with no ambition has no business being in politics.
2. To succeed in your ambition use any means possible e.g be a fence sitter,a turncoat, a heckler, a brawler in other words anything that will make you achieve your ambition.
Therefore let Musyoka do it the best way he knows.
It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt...

@Famooz, was laughing at your amazement of the topic. I actually did not expect people to discuss it really.

@bkismat, in whose interest does one have in mind when using any means to succeed in their ambition???

@Kadonye na B.Timer, this is where we armchair analysts get it all wrong and complain later. When we support such spine-less, vision-less demagoguery as Kibakis and Kalonzos. Lets be honest, what leadership qualities do we see from "wiper"? Kama Kibaki he'll fence sit when clear leadership is needed. Do we need examples? @Bkismat, dishonesty and selfishness have never been qualities for leadership never!

Those who wish to interpret Machiavelli, power for the sake of the ruler is not in the interests of the people. We need a change in our politics, a change we can believe in.

@ Rahatupu

I thought the real Machiavelli student is RAO, - power at whatever cost, by any means neccesary!

Before he became president, who thought Moi was going to offer "leadership" never mind the direction.
Just as absolute power corrupts leaders, so does absolute fanaticism blind the people from logic

On Katiba his position is clear, YES, but sorry that we have very unfairly rubbished certain constituencies whose concerns are genuine and valid.

Kibaki is in record promising the church that certain panel beating of sections in the draft considered sloppy were to be effected prior to referundum.
That effort was defeated by sly politicians who did everything to ensure that no consensus building talks would take place before the matter was brought to parliment for debate and possible amendment. Remember the Naivasha retreat debacle where Hotels were booked and paid for but political shenanigans saw the noble effort abort.

The VP says he is for Yes but acknowledges that those in No have real concerns and should not be ostracised.

In constitution making you can not afford to appear headstrong and keep showing those of alternative persuasion the middle finger.
That is not the way of aspiring statesmen.

For heaveans sake when Kenyans wipe the scales off their eyes, they will realise that it is undesirable for us to appear to be at war with the church.

While some politicians are at home calling the clergy WANAFIKI, Kalonzo would rather we dealt with them more honestly.

@B.Timer
I don't remember reading any part of the constitution making road map that involved MP's going to strike deals in Naivasha.

Why don't you show us that part before passing the blame around.

Secondly, Kibaki being a christian will be sympathetic to the church, but he is also a Kenyan and he has to compromise for the benefit of all kenyans and not the clergy.

@All,

The main problem with Kalonzo's stand is he continues to encourage an unrealistic demand by the church and the Naysayers instead of declaring a YES/NO stand which is the requirement. This makes it difficult for the public to understand what he wants. For example all Kenyans want a new constitution, while Ruto X2, Moi, Jirongo, Peter Karanja and their few followers want to retain the status quo. I guess kalonzo is only being true to himself and wants to "PITA KATIKATI YAO"

Everybody in Kenya clearly understood the roadmap for creating the constitution, and knew in advance it could not be altered at this stage. So those calling for dialogue or multiple choice questions in essence want to retain the current status quo which is tilted in their favour but luck the courage to openly declare that.

We are at the stage where no changes can be made, all the politicians agitating for dialogue now including Kalonzo should have done that when the window allowed it, same for the church.

The politicians have played their part and we thank them, its our time, its the time for a more simple approach, YES or NO, that is not rocket science, even a two year old would not ask for further clarification.
