May they rest in peace.

But what is this incompetence of third-world countries in national sport?

1- pilot shy to say plane didn't have enough fuel
2- were not allowed to charter a direct flight from Brazil to Colombia because plane was now owned by Venezuela
3- plane Avro RJ85 selected had just the ability to cover required 2,972km

Sad sad story. I am a great follower of BvSoccer and just late Sunday night, i watched highlights of Chapecoense stand tall against Brazilian giants, Palmeiras only to lose 1-0. Little did i know they were traveling to Medellin for SudAmerica finals later on and news of the lose of nearly the entire team was almost unbelievable. My prayers to the families. I had also hoped the 4 surviving players would pull through but i've just learnt that keeper Danilo passed on of his own injuries and now there is Follman, Zampier Neto and defender Alan Ruschel. I really hope they live to tell. C'mon lads!!!Pray
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

In 1993 Zambia was emerging as a football power when the entire Zambian national team perished in a plane crash near Libreville. The following year they almost won Africa cup of nations narrowly losing to a very strong Naija team in the final.

Some of it was because the Zambian FA got a lot of financial and material help including a good coach who was paid for by the English FA.

I hope this Brazilian team can also rebuild and overcome the odds. They will need help.
