I didn't know where to add this so admin, you can do what you think is necessary.

This is a warning to kenyan site owners running their websites on Joomla.

There is a hacker running around the net looking for kenyan websites running on joomla. they aren't targeting the site to bring it down but to add a phising script on the server.

This is what they are using a google function on co.ke websites to find your site. Once they do this they can easily find out the other sites the developer runs on joomla even if they are dot coms.

they then try to hack into your server.

You need to urgently update your joomla websites to the latest versions. its version .17 so update it today.

Just got a guy who's site was banned by their host. took a whole day convincing the host that the client does not know what a server, a joomla or a website is. He was just dumped by his designer after the work was done.

So contact your designer and have your joomla updated immeadiately.

What i can say is that despite the challenges in joomla the security issues can be sorted out ,the phishing problem occurs in earlier versions of Joomla i.e. 1.5 and below,i would advice you to change your database prefixes, admin passwords and most of all not to save your passwords online i.e. remember passwords on your browser.
