If you read the article the increment is to pay for orpower new geothermal unit that sold electricity to kplc yet it had no agreed tariff with ERC.
On the issue we are producing more power than we can consume; that is the truth and we are now beginning to see the effects .As a country we need to encourage more consumption or have expensive bills

Let's hope that Kenyan consumers [all sectors] consume the power that is being produced and cannot be stored eg wind, solar, geothermal. I think hydro can be stored [water isn't released] as long as the dams are not at "spill" capacity.

Unless the INDUSTRIAL activity picks up, the consumption of electricity may not increase much.
Is SGR electric?

Folks are fed up of KPLC and where possible reducing their reliance on KPLC. Savings of 20% over KPLC.

Now Chumo retires.

Being a boss in some of these GK associated firms is really a big task.

Though this guy and KP say that it's age-retirement, I am suspecting he had quite some pressure from 'some parties'.

As soon as you take up some of these jobs there is pressure to conform to cartels, otherwise they start planning for your succession by a more friendly party.

I wonder who will sit on the seat next.
