the return of the railaholics

I am not a Railaholic. I am not a supporter of Raila.

I am having a problem with people trying to save their skin politically instead of doing the right thing.

I think i am naive but i just cant help but to wish for a few leaders, even just one, who would sacrifice himself for a greater good.

By the way, did he have to accept any leadership position in the Government. I would have had a great respect for him if he would have acknowledged irregularities (even without mentioning any party) and just kept his parliamentary seat like a good boy. He would have been a Hero.

What do you guys think???? Seriously, we need a fresh breed of leaders. Is it not amazing how you will not likely see the same candidate running for election having been defeated at a previous US election. Look at akina Al Gore and Edwards. Every election has a fresh candidate unless its the president running for reelection.

Hii Kenya yetu with akina Raila and Kalonzo running year in year out. We need people to step up.

Kalonzo the man who never saw a fence he did not sit on. Spineless etc. Reminds me of Kibaki of yore. @B.Timer, its not true that all efforts at consensus were not explored, from Naivasha to KIA and finally Parliament yet no deal was reached. Nothing has substantially changed to make believe that this "consensus" will bear fruit.

Why do we fear doing things the hard way? Always out for quick fix? Constitution making has passed the lobbying stage and now its time to the pple's decision individually at the ballot box. The church cannot keep blackmailing Kenyans with their absurdity. There is no place for groups/stakeholders at the ballot box!

Kalonzo will forever disappoint the likes of Wazuarians (thinking masses) and will thrive on the idiocy of the rural masses. Washindwe!Between YES and NO is no where. Let the real leaders stand up.

We were going to have a Govt in place either way.

When things are looking rather unstable, the one who chooses to vote to stabilise things as opposed to showing indifference to Kenya going the Siera Leone or Rwanda way does so vote for Kenya.

There was an umpire for the process in the election. His verdict remains valid unless and untill it is challenged in a manner that is consistent with the law.
All players are expected to go with his verdict or challenge it via the formal channels.
Kalonzo went with the rulling, aware that there were certain irregularities as you put it.

But heck which election doesnt have irregularities and claims of irregulaties.
1992 had irregularities, so was 1997, 2002, 2005 referundum as had 2007.
US in 2008 had irregularities too.
So that can never be basis to ask people not to take offices, pending any legal challenges if so.

@Rahatupu

Show a little more honesty,- who muddied the waters upon the effort on consensus?
Mps were to go to Naivasha, but while some were already there, the spoilers were in Nairobi busy peeing on the effort.

That way Naivasha aborted, you know the culprits.
Infact at this stage they were bold enough to say NO to consensus apparently because they were happy with the draft as it were.

Then more pressure was brought to bear for consensus. We all heard Henry Kosgey say that in order for his party not to “appear” as the one standing in the way of consensus, they were now ready for such a retreat, but not before giving their own irreducible minimum demands!
Of course political will on consensus was wanting, and they embraced the effort late in the day only for appearances and posturing.

Subsequently KIA was a sham.

Without prior consensus outside the house, Parliament was never going to come up with anything - that should be clear to all.

I repeat, Kibaki would have granted the church some of their wishes, but shenanigans…
He had to move on anyway, just as he has had to do on many other occasions.

And by the way you characterized the VP as a fence sitter just as you view Kibaki.
Kibaki played that way and became president…
Where do the similarities in their trajectory end.
Or are you telling us something about Kalonzo and 2012.

We called Kibaki General Kiguoya in 92.He was 3rd in those elections. In 97 he was 2nd,in '02 the cowardly general won n is still President.

I find an interesting trend where cool fence sitters make it big in politics while their noisy colleagues are thrown in the bin by a public willing to get a new revolutionary.

Compare:
Kibaki and Matiba-where is old Ken?fanatics had his potraits in shops in 92 awaiting his swearing in!

Raila and Orengo-The former is a cold revolutionary. He fights when it is politically expedient to do so but will turn round and eat with the enemy. The latter is fiery fights with all he has but this has left him in the cold. But I believe he is now learning from the former.

Moi and Mboya/JM ETC
