Quick fact for wazuans who do not know the Republican party: It is the Republicans under Abraham Lincoln who abolished slavery in the US and granted citizenship to freed slaves while the democats wanted a continuation of slavery. Only a mad black man would vote for the pro-slave party - the Demoratic party.

Quote:
The Republican Party was founded primarily to oppose slavery, and Republicans eventually abolished slavery. The Democratic Party fought them and tried to maintain and expand slavery. The 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery, passed in 1865 with 100% Republican support but only 23% Democrat support in congress.

NB: By 1861, Republicans had their first president: Abraham Lincoln. Soon after, slavery fell.

Trump is right....

Quote:
At a rally Tuesday night in Everett, Washington, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump referenced the Democratic Party's role in the history of slavery and racial oppression and said he was proud to represent "Abraham Lincoln's Republican Party."

"Nothing makes me more honored and proud than to be the nominee of Abraham Lincoln’s Republican Party," Trump said.

About the Democrats, he said: "It is the Democratic Party that is the party of slavery, the party of Jim Crow, the party of oppression."

"Our party will fight to bring hope to every forgotten stretch of this country. Once again, we will be One American Nation," he also said.

Democrats have always been crooked liars. They did not start lying now with Hillary. They pretend that they love blacks while they supported slavery and Jim Crow laws, until the Republicans fought for and liberated blacks.

yeah... the Republican party WAS a great party. They have done a lot.... I have really great republican friends. very inward looking. This is the 1st time I am supporting the Democrats why? the Republican party is a small tent party... this is misread (dog whispering) by hateful groups to mean - nationalistic... but it's not a tenable position for a country that diverse... looking at the demographics. This means people and their issues are not the same. For me the question is changing with the times? Who is acting like a skilled judoka and using the momentum of time and globilization to their advantage? The answer for me - it's the Democrats. The Republicans want to roll back time. Before FDR the Democratic party was a really bad party - terrible people... but things changed... it's always been a majority white country but demographics are changing... all these coalisons are having more weight... minorities of all sorts. look at the coverage of hispanic and african american voting.

Personally, I actually think Trump is brilliant... he is no fool... he was clear and repeated the same thing. He knows his audience. I have a friend who is great at the same thing - simplifying stuff so that everyone understands it and then repeats it and repeats it and repeats it... using exactly the same words... by the 3rd time i was hearing it i was rolling my eyes due to his lack of creativity until i realised the audience loved it and ate it. ARTICULATE YOUR POINTS SIMPLY AND DO IT OVER AND OVER. perhaps that is something us celebral types don't understand... perhaps that is why we have the Kalembes in politics and the really polished intellectuals are not! COZ it works... the audience eats it up. For Trump - it has reverberated. This is a watershed moment in American politics - Are we seeing a change where the republican party is going to be the small guys party - YES... but the question is... what which group of small guys? I think if Trump loses... we shall have a worse candidate in 2020!

That was a nice speech by Trump. Unless blacks suffer from the Stockholm syndrome <<RINK>> they should all vote for Trump and the Republican party.

Quote:
Donald Trump on Tuesday called the Democratic Party the “party of slavery,” blaming them for oppressing African-Americans.

Speaking at a rally in Everett, Wash., the GOP nominee blasted Hillary Clinton and her party for taking black voters for granted.
“Remember … the Republican Party is the party of Abraham Lincoln. Not bad,” Trump said. “It’s also the party of freedom equality and opportunity — people have forgotten it so long now.”

“It is the Democratic Party that is the party of slavery, the party of Jim Crow and the party of opposition.”

"Tonight, I am asking for the vote of every African-American and Hispanic citizen in this country who wants a better future, who wants to see real, positive change," Trump said Tuesday. "The inner cities of our country have been run by the Democratic regime for so long."

"These Democratic policies — the policies of Hillary Clinton — have produced only poverty, joblessness, failing schools, broken homes, and rising crime," he continued. "And it's only getting worse. They don't care about you."

Very simplistic thinking, if you pardon my saying so.

Political parties, like all artificial entities i.e. companies, unions etc. are constantly changing, evolving, and morphing. Nothing is static.

For example, you might as well expect all marriages to last forever and ever, just because they were a happy occasion at the initial stage. But they don't because the people change.

Or simply said, you think Apple Inc. would be same entity if Tim Cook was replaced with Moses Kuria?

The republicans who supported the amendments you're touting are all dead. They are not in the party anymore. Only racist bigots...led by Trump.

Whites already have the "Tyranny of numbers" in the US. Why should their future be determined by "immigrants"?
