Problem is he is too Suave for the Nairobi trench-style politics. Getting a nomination is a tough call in Nbi as you literally have to ferry people for nominations, its normally done on a working day and the working class will rarely be available to nominate him.

I think he is not as suave as you think. He won KFF chairmanship and football politics are just as dirty.

I saw him being fronted by Nairobi MCA's, meaning he understands the game better than those fronted by leaders from other counties.
At the nomination stage, he just require some MCA's and very influencial local leaders for mobilisation.

He's a clever man. He would not make such a declaration without blessings from the top. His only threat would be Sonko and I'm sure they've already have a deal with him either to remain Senator until 2022 or something. Sakaja will get his nomination to Senate...

BBI will solve it

At this point it might be "anyone but Kidero."
PK may have lost street cred, but he grew up in Bahati-he might be able to reclaim that legacy, though I don't see him outdoing Sonko in the street cred department.

Peter Kenneth has just made the worst decision of his political career.
He should have stood as a presidential candidate again in my view.... So that in 2022 he can join forces with CORD or its equivalent as a member of a 'future Pentagon'. He has sacrificed whatever goodwill he had outside Mt Kenya region.

Whoever will lead that 'future pentagon' will likely become the next president as Kenyans will want change in 2022 in my view.

It is likely he will not win any governorship position.... Maybe he will wait to be appointed a cabinet secretary in 2017 which is not guaranteed.

I think after enjoying politics for decades, being in the cold sio mchezo and that is why many sober politicians make funny decisions to guarantee their survival. afadhali kukula nyama kidogo kuliko kumeza mate cc. Nyong'o and Orengo ... there are many more smile
