A colleague just bought a brand new second hand Toyota Kluger and the car was delivered without a spare tyre.
On a closer check he found some kits in boot, some tubs which looks like colgate tubs.

The instructions there-in say that in event of puncture one is supposed to sijui finyilia the content of those tubs huko ndani ya tyre, and by doing that will enable the car to be driven to the next station/garage...for what?

Hold your stinky breath!!!!

FOR THE TYRE TO BE REPLACED.

This kind of tyre eti cannot be repaired.

My next question was suppose the tire is "cut" can it be shomelewad?

NO ANSWER.

Please discuss the merits and demerits of this new disruptive technology.

That's the future for you. Manufacturers make savings on costs and weight by discarding the spare tyre.

From personal experience that repair kit is as useless as the space savers they are meant to replace.

Now with our retarded traffic laws, I foresee a situation where the mboys in blue haraas you for not carrying a spare wheel.

By the way I have seen guys carrying spare wheels in the trunk of those cars, it looks ugly since there was no space designed in the trunk to accomodate the spare wheel.
