I could have sworn that it was me who wrote that letter if I was tipsy.. Worded soo eloquently in a stone faced manner.. A rushed exit was never on the cards, but in management your followers have to agree to follow lest one ends up like Mourinho in his last season at Chelsea.. @Ngunze has chosen to leave at the right moment. Hopefully GoK won't prevail on him to stay longer than necessary

Strike still on now to that add CDL strike...noma.

God is speaking directly to the management at KQ. I would be glad if I was faced with such a reckless act at this time.. Its now or never.. Time to bring out the stone face

Who should wear a stone face? The one is who mismanaging or the one demanding change?

The notice is not a reckless act, Ngunze is being reckless by releasing results propped up by proceeds of asset sales and threatening to stop sale of tickets. It is a very foolish gesture.

They went and discussed immediately with the god fathers how to counter the strike. They do not care about the interests of other stakeholders when their's are being taken care of?

@Ngunze has indeed dissatisfied me on this latest release.. He should have cancelled the ticket sales for the effective start date of industrial action and announced no-pay for days down. Its reckless to keep selling whereby notice to down tools has already been issued by the two large unions

Stopping sale of tickets at any point is like digging your own grave. This is a very reckless statement and it goes along way to prove how incompetent this fellow is.

In fact, KALPA's notice was carefully worded to protect the safety reputation of the Airline.

I have fingered the general staff at the airline for being nonchalant and the so said carefully worded strike threat is a case in point. The staff want to kill KQ!!!

Ngunze must go. He is the one killing KQ. Wait for the confrontation, the pilots are not backing off this time round.

What else do you need to prove the mismanagement being overseen by this character?

@Ngunze will go, but that will not stop delayed or cancelled flights by a crew that slept at 1824 and calls in sick, or ground crew who pilfer baggage, air hostesses who are shabby and rarely smile, finance guys who suppress ticket sales for personal gain, procurement that seals underhand deals.. Its @Ngunze who initiated the audits. Its @Ngunze who has delivered reduced loss by amazing margins. If given sufficient time, @Ngunze would have made KQ the Pride of Africa

He initiated audits which exposed him badly?
Sad

Everyone makes mistakes including Dr Mwangi who famously emptied Trade Bank safes. That one error of Dubai bank account opening by @Ngunze is minor to me. The share I up 6% today and tomorrow we are likely to touch KES 4.60.. Boarding call was already issued, but we are still on the tarmac, it's not too late to jump in

I beg to differ and on principle, nguzio is truely the axis of evil bedeviling kq, flashing results sanitized at the alter of shareholders wealth, sale of core assets for a song, anchoring and harbouring masters of corruption, is the only way to qualify for an express ticket to hell. peace.

@Spikes You said that the share shall drop massively tomorrow, let's wait and see. The turnaround is finally here. At operating level we are in the black, while the red at the bottom line can be overturned by aggressive revenue growth using existing lean fleet. Personally, I foresee a 6-8% increase in the KQ share tomorrow. I'm in the money!!

I was a supporter of Naikuni BUT the day I realized his interests were NOT aligned with mine as a shareholder, I started the process of bailing out. Then there is his right hand man, Alex Mbugua.

I couldn't have said it better. Pilots and the rest of us knows that these servants does not give a damn to public and national interest. They want to ensure that the masters are happy at all times.

There is no leadership at play here at all. When was this recruitment commenced? It seems he tried to speak to KALPA but they rejected and now they are resorting to take it or leave it/ holding the gun on Gichinga? The young pilots won't give in this time round. Which lenses do they need to see that the sycophant they planted to take care of the interests of the master is incompetent.

Let them use force to keep him at the helm and before they realize, there will be no more 100 billion revenue they are salivating on. It is very shocking that they believe no one else can take care of their interests if they let him go.

The circus continue and the losses will continue mounting. Most of you will be shocked at the full year results.

Awori is leaving and Ngunze should follow.

Awori has admitted that he has nothing to offer as it is already very evident to every right thinking individuals.

“I see myself leaving, yes,” Awori said by phone on Thursday. “I have begun the turnaround and honestly Kenya Airways needs somebody who has much more time than I have.”

Most people here including Gichinga have no clue on how to turn around KQ, our best strategic bet was Ngunze but the mobb has had its way.. The airline is bigger than a few individuals including some of the pilots who are known to collude in the agency scams. Meanwhile we await a meteoric share price rush based on varied news releases yesterday

What if it caves in due to pressure from the news you perceive as positive ?

Ngunze knew nothing about turnaround. He messed up everything and he should leave with immediate effect. The more he stays, the more plunders committed in KQ. Which pilots collude with agents to scam KQ? Ngunze and his management team are the ones colluding with agencies to defraud KQ and not pilots.

Pilots are the ones who are against the mismanagement. They called out the ticketing issues, the non-remittance from travel agents, disposal of core revenue generating assets without due care and diligence, etc.

Very disastrous. Fly Dubai also got the landing rights and Emirates and Etihad will offload Mombasa bound pax to it.

What these clueless cabinet secretaries are doing will make the turnaround of this airline very difficult going forward.

It is a shame that it has reached a point that a gentleman (Awori) and a shrewd businessman has to step down because of past management errors carried forward to the present.

I am also surprised or rather shocked to learn that a cabinet secretary(tourism) went to Qatar to beg that Qatar airlines flies direct to Mombasa instead of cracking his head(which we Kenyans pay him to do) to find ways of how KQ can do the same exact thing - fly from Mombasa to Qatar or even Kisumu to cairo or Malindi to Milan. I also wonder why we don't have direct flights from say Mombasa to Kisumu, Malindi to Lodwar etc just like there are flights from Capetown to Durban etc.

The other day Pombe Magufuli bought to aeroplanes for Air Tanzania and i predicted here that we Kenyans will be flying with Air Tanzania in not a distant future, just as we find ourselves flying Rwandair and liking it
