There have been silent discontent in Muranga about this project.
The refrain has been 'let's not attack our government'
Baba is right on facts but he is not the right guy to push this agenda. He should have left it to Martha.

Watching amlive on NTV interesting thing is that Senator Linturi and co (Wamatangi is the only one disputing) actually agree that a proper assessment of the project should be done..

Please summarise the facts he is right about.

If he left it to Martha nobody would listen plus Martha is still sane enough to know when to payuka and when not to.

Whatever facts babu has they have been overshadowed by his stupidity of calling it a secret project and the fact that he was involved at the begining.

The project will definitely affect water resources in Murang'a. The project is however not a secret at all!

Why do the jubilee guys feel the need to respond to baba on every occasion. It's always a trap and they always end up with egg on the face.

Do it Kibaki style. Silence. Let the technocrats from the water and irrigation ministry handle the matter. Now every jubilee sycophant is weighing in without taking time to digest the allegations from baba.

We've been here before; nys, waiguru, eurobond, iebc. And jubilee always scores own goal.

I was wondering the same thing.

The question is legit. Is the watercatchment area in greater central going to be eroded or not?

if this project was bad and shall affect the people of muranga among others, i find it ironical that because of raila's involvement people are ready to cut off their noses to spite their face. maybe that's been raila's intention all along.

Babu is a political genius.I like how he used shocking and secret on the same statement.Reminds me of those gutter magazines kina Nairobian. It captures the attention of kenyans.
Why is it conducted in secret.RAO must be rightsmile
Hapa Jubilee will get into defensive and they will lose properly.
Let the loud mouthed Sycophants shut up and let the professionals explain the envoronmental implications. If the project is successful then we will thank Babu because he initiated the project.

Don't get me wrong. That is why I asked for a summary of the facts so that we all evaluate them.
Its not about Babus involvement is about about the storm he wants to raise through falsehoods and exargerations that is the problem.

When I got the "breaking news" on the news conference about this project what came to mind is some clandestine activity that is happening in the dead of the night with some strange equipment that make no noise such that even the adjacent settlements have no clue at all.

Only for counter claims to show he was with it from the start and its an open project.

I won't get fooled. Babu's noise is not about the welfare of those downstream the said project. It's all realpolitik and i think Uhuruto will not respond to this rubbish. Babu's questions can be handled by Duale......btw, Babu claims the WB has classified the project as category A(whatever that means). Now, how many WBs do we have, since there is a WB which is funding the same!Sad

nope... it doesn't work that way! not with water! if it did countries down stream of a river would be paying countries upstream for water. Water is a collective resource.

Murang'a County is getting her share...

INDEPENDENT COMMUNITY WATER SUPPLY ALONG THE NORTHERN COLLECTOR TUNNEL
Muruka–Kenol-Makuyu Pipeline - 34 Km
Mareira-Sabasaba-Muthithi Pipeline – 16.5 Km
Kaharati-Iganjo Pipeline – 6.5 Km
Rwathia - Mukangu pipeline – 27 Km
Kayahwe – Kambirwa Pipeline – 12Km - plus an extension of 26 km to 3 different location.
Kahuti II Water Treatment Plant – 4,000 cumec /day
Kiriciungu Water Treatment Plant – 4,000 cumec /day

i get you. but problem is that due to raila's involvement the signal shall be surely swallowed by the noise.

i have a colleague who has been against this project from the word go - not that i agree with the reasons for that. and he is a jubilee die hard. right now the guy is all over - he is pro and anti the project depending on whether he is talking about it or raila. fun to watch actually.

It is these kinds of hypocrisy that makes me detest this RAO man so much!

Then the usual apologists start blaming those who respond instead of addressing the substantive matter!

It is hitting two words with one stone.Uhuruto never learnt from Kibaki and they will both respond. This will occupy us for a while before we get the next 'hot issue' and then life moves on.

I am not missing the bigger picture here. Raila and his 'dreaming team" seem to have a grand scheme that involves discrediting the government of the day in areas where they had started making inroads. Infact, the bigger scheme is to discredit the government amongst all Kenyans except in RV and Gema nation. This one was an easy target since it involves birrions and targets the Kambas and Somali community. I hope he gets seen for his evil scheme of 40 against 2.WATCH!

Below is a billboard of the "secret project". The billboard is 3 years old!

This photo looks dubious, where have the power lines gone to, it can't be that they have all been earthen as the photo suggests, someone confirm if it's authentic or not
