Obiero, clearly your sources are not authentic/credible

The strike is likely to take place. No serious professional want to fly faulty planes. It will drop from the sky.

Will only buy after the results which are bad...and thereafter Ngunze's resignation.

It is unlikely that Ngunze will resign.. He has a name to hold and the turnaround thus far is directly linked to his wisdom.. He has managed the company par excellence as CEO

He is going home...wait and see.

I have also heard, and even after the 11 days I will wait.

Even a mad man knows this guy is among the executives who slept on the job. He is just being protected by the cartels.

I am not a mad man and I have said it here before that Ngunze is a victim of circumstances. He joined KQ in 2011, became CEO in Dec 2014. Should he be blamed for issues that have dogged the firm for years past. I don't think so.... Mr. Mbuvi Ngunze is CEO, Executive Director & Group Managing Director at Kenya Airways Ltd. and Secretary at East African Cement Producers Association.
He is on the Board of Directors at Kenya Airways Ltd., Jambo Jet Ltd., and Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.
Mr. Ngunze was previously employed as Group Vice President-Internal Communications by Lafarge SA, a Managing Director by Hima Cement Ltd., Finance Director by Bamburi Cement Co. Ltd., and Audit Manager by Pricewaterhousecoopers.
He also served on the board at Mbeya Cement Co. Ltd.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nairobi.

He was at all meetings in regards to project mawingu...the mother being one where TN used curse words infront of all managers accusing them of delaying implementation of the strategy...He can have that rosy CV but its time for him to go...even Ciano was well decorated.

Ciano had corruption embedded in his DNA. Similar to Naikuni.. Ngunze on the other hand is clean. Being part of a sinking ship does not mean you did not play your role right.. If assigned to check the sail or engine and I do my part.. Why should I suffer from a coxswain error who decided to go rudderless. Further from human psychology, it is not thinkable that he would hold on upto now, if indeed he was guilty of misdemeanours.. Not with the audit and Senate probe ongoing.. Indeed he could eventually be forced to leave by the mobb but I believe he means well for KQ regardless of whether or not he owns shares in the airline.. Though I would prefer that the CEO hold substantial shares to solidify his passion

You are aware whose interests the Ngunzes take care of, right? Hint, the other Ngunze is at CBA.

I am fully aware of the same and I believe that his sponsor is incorruptible too

Ngunze may take a final bow.. Talks ongoing as at now

The threads on this topic are longer than the debts of the airline!
They are tiring to read.
I didn't know there is so much to say about a dying, nay, dead company!

My conscience was clear. I knew pilots will not allow this guy to blindly extend no spend on critical maintenance activities. He should leave with all his appointed directors including the new COO from KLM subsidiary. Aircrafts which should be up and running to deter competition are rotting away in the grave yard while a Consultant is earning billions.

Its very dire. Ngunze is not capable of managing this company. The forensic audit findings and the information leaked on the Mckinsey contract are very disturbing. Some of these things were happening just last year (2015) when the Company was at its low point.

The circus continues. They must have had access to the reports to come to this decision. I didn't think it would come to a full blown strike, pilots are operating on almost 50% goodwill owing to reduced numbers; a withdrawal of goodwill would have been enough to yield some heat. I suspect collusion with someone in senior management or even in government.

No collusion, Ngunze's continued stay at the helm of KQ will deal a final blow to this airline very soon.

No fundamental changes have taken place. Ngunze & Awori have managed to influence the forensic audit. Aircraft acquisition through SPVs has been given a clean bill of health yet it is the hall mark of corruption in KQ. Loans which were single sourced led to the formation of SPVs.

Technical hitches in a rather new fleet points to something bigger as we have stated here. During the AGM, Ngunze whisked away the departure of engineers coupled with budget cuts leading to lack of proper maintenance checks.

*The Star may be a gutter press but some articles are credible.

Quote:
A Kenya Airways flight from Lusaka was delayed by technical hitches on Tuesday morning but will take off any time now, the airline has said.

Passengers have been waiting at the airport since about midnight when flight KQ720 failed to take off.

KQ acknowledged the inconvenience of the delay but said passenger safety was the priority.

It promised to issue a comprehensive statement on the matter.

The leaked Mckinsey contract has played a vital role in ousting this individual. It was a very reckless decision to execute it the way it was presented to KQ. A commercial lawyer should have reviewed it thoroughly before him and Alex signed off.

The rush to sell the slot and lease out even brand new dreamliners was as a result of the prepayment demanded by Mckinsey. The cat has been let out of the bag. Remember this two ideas just popped up. Only the B777-300ERs were to be leased out.
