Govt spokesman Eric Kiraithe says they had intelligence that Al Shabaab was planning an attack but supposedly was not enough to act on]   He also says that the govt response was effective and it was what enabled to assailants to escape back across the border. What the heck is going on here?

People are terrorised in their sleep and some killed, then we talk this way On the other hand, dont be fooled, these Islamos will always find some excuses to kill people regardless. Whether or not KDF is in Somalia does not matter. In all corners of the world, Islamos continue to trade in terror and massacre! @hardwood and @much_know, being an elder I expected you to already "know" that if someone commits a crime, follow the right channel to address the issue. Do you think if a man robs and kills somebody, we should condemn his community? Let's not be primitive in 21st century. We've to find out the culprit. The issue of condemning a community is what we call generalization.

We cannot CONDONE sporadic killing by anyone against anyone no MATTER where it is: Kenya, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, or U.S, or France, or ANYWHERE... Islam is AGAINST killing.

@hardwood, you cannot go around killing people! even if you disagree with them! This is common logic you can understand.
I said before there are pple who hate jews, but they cannot go & kill them! There are pple who hate Muslims, but they cannot go & kill them! There are those who hate Christians, but they have no right to go and kill them. We do not have the right to take the law into our own hands. This is something you must understand, and if you do not understand, then there is something wrong in your brain.
If anyone tell you anything contrary to this, then he is lying against Islam.

And to all of you...
Whoever committed the atrocity are criminals. They are terrorists. They are not Muslims. Islam does not teach such act ever! Even if he shouts Allah Akbar, that doesn't make him a Muslim. Anybody who has a mouth can shout! And that does not make him a Muslim. It just means he has hijacked a faith and impersonates.
And people should not refer to them as followers of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Because they are not following any single thing of his teachings. The same way we cannot say somebody calling himself John or Mathew does evil thing, we cannot say he is a Christian. there is nothing in the teachings of Jesus that says do evil! We Muslims we understand this!
