Either someone in KQ or Deloitte leaked it to Standard. All these revelations are just the tip of the iceberg. If ticketing was audited by a subject matter expert then the revelations could be shocking. Remember, only from 2012 to 2015 was covered and over 60 billion lost.

@ArrestedDev

I ask a wishful thinking kind of question

Assuming the senior management were fired and a team with some measure of integrity and competence put in charge, KQ would be making money at least in the long term?

But then what are the chances of drastic changes with the kind of government we have

More shocking revelations that would let @obiero sell his stake at throwaway price.

Our review of the letter dated 2 July 2010 revealed that Mr Naikuni, Ms Kiboi, Mr Mbugua, Francis Musila, Ground Services Director, Ms Felicita Kagwanja, Insurance Services Manager, and Mr Allan Fullilove, former KQ Technical Director, had endorsed and confirmed the suitability of the terms and conditions of the agreement,” the report notes.

Wheeler-dealer highlighted in red. Do you see the reason why Ngunze appointed him as the Ground Services Director. Ngunze is general wheeler-dealer in the Co. The mantle was fully handed to him by Naikuni.

Why isn't the share tanking

Has it gained anything above the one recorded in friday? Where is the rally you talked about?

This information does not filter much. It is only Standard publishing online, not sure if it is on the print edition.

Wanjiku do not know what is going on. Do you remember, there was one in the AGM saying the board and the management should be left to do the job and Macharia should keep off?

All the board members especially the old ones and the entire management should be send home if this Co. is to survive. The vested business interests are just too many.

Disgruntled employees are killing the gem KQ.. Ngunze is faultless. Meanwhile tomorrow we welcome Michael Joseph

The Chairman - Mwaniki left, excellent stuff from him. Enter Balozi all he needs is Mbuvi and other senior management to f*** off.

New strategy, new directors.

Only two things missing: new management and new funding sources

A bankruptcy would have helped it clean up faster.

Even a mad knows that Ngunze is a very weak and corrupt manager. Someone like him with a vast audit experience should have fixed the loopholes that bled KQ to its current death bed.

Employees are doing their best. If it was not for the resilience of KQ employees, this airline could not have seen the second year of such a huge loss position. Ngunze won't survive this storm. He better hang up the boots now.

Even the M-pigs knows that he is holding brief for the retired maasai herdsman and their god fathers.

Quote:
The MPs were united in calling for action against current Chief Executive Officer Mbuvi Ngunze and his predecessor Titus Naikuni for allegedly presiding over the "imminent collapse" of the airline.

Quote:
"The services offered by Kenya Airways are terrible. Naikuni and Ngunze cannot run away from the issues facing KQ. If decisions were made by Naikuni, he must be held responsible. We need full disclosure and action must be taken," said Chris Wamalwa (Kiminini).

Quote:
Midiwo fell short of naming a 'powerful family' which he claimed owned 90 per cent of Kenya Airways planes in partnership with Naikuni.

KQ is a thorn in the flesh. With the political interference and vested business interests, it is very hard to predict when the real turnaround will take place. What Mckinsey is doing now is just a cosmetic exercise without a tangible strategy to shape the direction of the airline.

It's market share in several destinations has been eaten into by the competition and hence the probability of a significant increase in revenue is almost zero.

The debt level as it is currently will be very difficult to repay. Finance costs will continue to impact earnings for years to come. There are no signs of a net profit in the foreseeable future.

More pressure even from the unfamiliar quarters....................

COTU: Kenya Airways top managers must leave office immediately

Quote:

β€œThe top management team at KQ has totally run out of any ideas and COTU (K) is concerned that despite the airline going down on its knees at every sunrise, the Kenya government continue to make unfulfilled promises on its plan to revive the airline to its profitability but unless the government moves with speed to listen to the calls by our MPs and workers as a Nation, Kenya will pay heavily for watching from a distance as our true Pride of Africa goes down to no take- off
.”

Anyone with some intelligence can attest that the fellow is a retard.

Quote:
Atwoli said that he listened to the Chief Executive Officer speak on the future of the airline and can confirm that he has no single vision nor idea on how to revive the ailing airline and his continued stay at the helm of KQ will make even its eventual revival very difficult for the Kenyan government.

We closed the day at KES 4.05 with an uptick motion suggestive of higher returns in the lead up to announcement of H1 figures next month.. Now, please let's offer a moment of silence to all the half hearted KQ staff who aim to bite the hands that feed them.. Meanwhile as chatters keep chatting, and matatu bloggers who have never been closer to a plane than on the chainlink fence at Wilson;weak bloggers who curse the ambitious Operation Pride under able leadership of Ngunze. I reserve respect for honestly written pieces like this http://www.standardmedia...cloud-kenya-airways-woes

He has looted KQ until he is not in touch with reality. Involved in so many other corrupt deals relating to Naikuni from 2011 onwards as he was Naikuni's right hand man.

The faster he is sacked the better for shareholders, staff and the entire stakeholders of KQ including customers and suppliers.

He wont survive the storm. Mark my words.
