Is anyone else watching Dr. Smokin's interview.

I think they should stop the interviews for cj after this.

Smokin hot...Smokin composed & Smokin smart responses. I like him already

He is trying but some of the questions being asked are hogwash.
Why ask him to say hi acceptance speach should he the succesful candidate?

Ati acceptance speech? What are they smokin over there?

He failed when he said that he wouldnt want to sit in another presidential petition. That whatever the case you will hurt 50% of Kenyans and please 50% of Kenyans. Thats a clear sign of an escapist, someone who doesn't want to deal with the issues

I was also surprised by his answer. I know deep down that is how he feels, but this being an interview, he should have put it better.

Yep. We need someone with balls of steel for that seat. Not a coward like Smoking. Someone the whole country can look up to and trust for that crucial decision regarding presidential petitions. After all handling presidential petitions is one of the key duties for the CJ job. How do you apply for a job whose key duty you do not want to perform?

I also thot Smokin's reluctance to hear a presidential petition and instead deferring it to a lower court automatically disqualifies him for the CJ's position. I am disappointed he does not understand that the reason the petition is taken directly to the supreme court is to expedite the judgement and avoid time wasting through unnecessary appeals.

He also needs to understand that the work of the supreme court is not to determine who the next president is but rather to confirm the decision already made by the electorate.

His explanation about hurting the feelings of 50% of the people is plain cowardice and shows a total lack of judgement that should even disqualify him from the judiciary, let alone the position he currently holds.

Exactly. This is also my feeling. He disqualified himself by that response.

IMHO Rtd Justice Ringera should have stayed at home...

But who knows he could make the shortlist ... I hear he made some solomonic rulings during his tenure at the bench ...
