As a customer: Expensive vs competition be it flights to Kigali, Entebbe, Addis, Accra, Dubai, Mumbai, Guangzhou or London. Delayed flights. I am OK spending 4 hours more on a connecting flight if it saves me $200. Yes, I am cheap. No expense account. No free upgrades courtesy of the CEO of KQ.

As a Customer: I fill up at KK not Shell/Total. Value for money. 2/- discount on my K-Card. Plus some stations give additional discounts.
As an Investor: KK has Profits. Dividends. Growing profits. Potential takeover. Money, money, money!

@obiero it seems some people are bleating here because they lack relevant information. I spoke with a German elderly woman who has made several tours to African countries for the last 3 decades. She told me Kenya is incomparable to other nations in the continent. Kenya prides in aesthetic flora and fauna attracting tourists from across the globe especially Europe, North America, Canada, Australia the list is endless. Beautiful sceneries along the Great Rift Valley, historical sites, cultural events-ceremonies and rituals- amongst Kenyan communities e.g the Maasai in the Rift valley and Mijikenda across the coastline. You people are not aware some Wazungus come to Kenya to see Maasai and Ogiek . Most importantly the 8th wonder of the world, Great wild beast migration from Maasai Mara to Serengeti in Tanzania.

For some people kusoma ni noma... so they just want to payuka about what some German lady said.

Compare the "natural appeal" of Dubai (a city/state) vs Kenya (a country) yet how many tourists does Dubai get vs Kenya?
How many Kenyans go to Dubai on holiday?
How many Emiratis come to Kenya on holiday?
How many pax fly Emirates?
How many fly KQ?
How many Kenyans (& East Africans) fly Emirates? [I am not even counting Fly Dubai & Etihad]

Good news for travelers and airlines.
Next, EAC should apply only "local/domestic" taxes on EAC flights. Why pay $260 RT (on RwandaAir) NBO-KGL-NBO or $350 RT (on KQ) NBO-DSM-NBO when a huge part of that goes to taxes? Cheaper flights will encourage more travel within EAC.

Kenyans need to visit UG. Tanzanians should come see Nairobi. Ugandans can see the wonders of Selous. Rwandans should see the elephants in Marsabit. Tanzanians the beautiful Lake Kivu.

Plus trade in goods & services within EAC would see a boost. More inter-EAC trade is required to improve our lot.

"The Internet" is not made up of one URL. Egypt is way more popular as a recommendation than Kenya. Try a google search with "top tourist destinations in Africa". And in case you did not know, what shows up on the Internet depends of how savvy the website builder/marketer is.
